“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: May they prosper who love you. Peace be within your walls, prosperity within your palaces” (Psalm 122:6-7).

“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem” is a covenant statement. It’s not a request. If you are a believer in the Messiah, you are commanded to pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

But this command comes with a promise. Look what happens to those who pray: “May they prosper.” Not those who just pray, but those “who love you.” This is why the enemy so battles Jew and Gentile relationships and why he tries to put enmity between the church and Israel. He doesn’t want the church to prosper.

This promise of prosperity is backed by God’s principle of sowing and reaping. You reap what you sow. We want to sow into Jerusalem—not just with money, but with prayer.

As we sow, we are going to prosper. Say out loud, “I’m going to prosper. I’m going to have peace within my walls. And I’m going to have prosperity within my palaces.”

When you look at the city of Jerusalem you can see the condition of the whole earth. It’s divided, prideful and torn apart. Jerusalem is the city of shalom (peace). Yet, there is no peace. It’s not walking in its destiny. Everyone is laying claim to it.

Doesn’t that sound like many Christians? We are torn, divided, sick, and everything from the outside is trying to lay hold of us.

But you belong to God. And He is not content seeing someone else rescue you. He’s a jealous God. He’s jealous for Jerusalem, and He’s jealous for you. The heart and the destiny God has for Jerusalem, He has for you.

When we pray for Jerusalem, we can say to the Lord, “Let us reap everything we have sown, everything we have prayed into that city. Let us reap it back in our own bodies, our homes, our businesses, and our ministries. Lord, break every assignment to destroy our health, our property and our finances.” The Word says regarding those who pray for the peace of Jerusalem, “peace be within your walls.” We want peace.

Ephesians 6:8 says, “Knowing that whatever good anyone does, he will receive the same from the Lord, whether he is a slave or free.” This is another covenant statement. It says that if you do good, you will receive the same, whether you are a slave or free. That means whether you don’t have victory in a certain area or whether you do have victory, you will receive from the Lord. You don’t have to be free in that area to receive the blessing. You just need mustard seed faith.

So take your mustard seed faith and pray what the Scripture says for Jerusalem and Israel and then receive the same for yourself.

To do this we need to be intercessors, reminding God of His promises and appointments yet to be fulfilled. The power of life and death is in the tongue. Just as God spoke the earth into existence, I speak now. I’m just like my Daddy.

It’s not that we have to remind God because He is holding out or He is busy in Bosnia, or someplace. No, this is warfare. And as an intercessor, and as a watchman, our job is to put Him into remembrance (Isaiah 43:26).

Jerusalem is a place where things are birthed. When God says “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem,” He is saying, “I want you to pray for this very apple of My eye that it would bring forth life to bless the whole earth” (see Zechariah 2:8).

Look at some of the loving names God has for Jerusalem. He calls it the City of David, the City of God (Psalm 87:3), and the City of Judah.

And then God gets more romantic, calling Jerusalem a City of Joy. And it will be. He says it’s the City of Peace because His Son, the Prince of Peace is returning to it.

It’s a City of Praise. It’s a City of Great Song.

You may not be in full joy, full peace and full praise until you enter His gates. But you have to labor to rest. You have to make a decision to declare: “I am a City of Joy. I am at peace. I am going to praise You.”

God calls Jerusalem a City of Righteousness. You and I will be a City of Righteousness. You have to constantly labor to say I will walk uprightly with the Lord.

It’s the City of the Great King. My temple (body) is the City of the Great King.

It’s the City of Truth. The reason Jerusalem is constantly in the news is because God is judging the nations by their actions toward Jerusalem, and has been for many years.

It’s called a Faithful City. Is it a Faithful City now? No. But it will be. There will be a time when they will take their swords and beat them into plowshares. Revival is coming to Israel, and it’s coming quickly.

In Jeremiah 11:16, God calls it the Green Olive Tree. It certainly isn’t a Green Olive Tree now. But it will be. In Matthew 21:19, when Jesus passed by the fig tree, He cursed it. Why? Because it had no fruit. But when He comes back, the fig tree (symbolic of the nation of Israel) is going to be blossoming with fruit—with you and I.

Jerusalem is a Holy City. It is certainly not holy now. But it will be.

Can you and I be a City of Truth? Can we be Faithful? Can you open up your life and be an intercessor? We need to be that Green Olive Tree bringing forth much fruit.

In Jeremiah 3:17, God calls Jerusalem the Throne of the Lord. It’s the place where He will sit. The Father wants you to be a house of the Lord. He wants to abide with you.

You may be thinking that God promised all this to Israel a long time ago and maybe He’s changed His mind. I want to show you just one covenant promise (there are many). Look at Jeremiah 31:35-36:

“Thus says the Lord, Who gives the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and the stars for a light by night, Who disturbs the sea, and its waves roar (The Lord of hosts is His name): ‘If those ordinances depart from before Me, says the Lord, then the seed of Israel shall also cease from being a nation before Me forever.’”

Why is God saying this? Because He knows that satan is going to try to discredit His promise. He says that as long as there is a sun, moon and stars, Israel will continue to be a nation—forever!

Let’s put it another way. If the Arabs are able to push the Jews out of Israel into the sea, then God is not God. Because in Isaiah it says “the Lord shall set His hand again the second time to recover the remnant of His people...” (Isaiah 11:11). There is no third time. This is it. The fig tree is blossoming. Jesus said this generation shall not pass away without seeing His return (Luke 21:29-32).

As you confess these names over Jerusalem, declare the harvest you will reap for yourself. Say, “Lord, all I have to do is put You into remembrance of these promises and I will be a City of Joy. I will be a City of Peace. I will be a City of Praise. A City of Righteousness. A City where the Great King can come. A City where You can sit down and be the Lord. A City of Truth. A Faithful City. A Green Olive Tree that yields an abundant harvest. I will be a Holy City and all that’s around me: my family, my children, my grandchildren, my ministry, and my business, shall be holy and prosperous.”

Do you have the faith of a mustard seed? If so pray the following prayer out loud. It is based on Daniel’s prayer from Daniel chapter 9 (Scripture portion is italicized):

Father in the name of Jesus, we come as intercessors and we pray Your Word that shall not come back void, but that shall prosper in that which it is sent. In Jesus’ name, I will “set my face toward the Lord God to make request by prayer and supplications, with fasting....

“‘O Lord, great and awesome God, who keeps His covenant and mercy with those who love Him, and with those who keep His commandments, we have sinned and committed iniquity, we have done wickedly and rebelled, even by departing from Your precepts and Your judgments.

“‘Neither have we heeded Your servants the prophets, who spoke in Your name to our kings and our princes, to our fathers and all the people of the land....

“‘And now, O Lord our God, who brought Your people out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand, and made Yourself a name, as it is this day—we have sinned, we have done wickedly! O Lord, according to all Your righteousness, I pray, let Your anger and Your fury be turned away from Your city Jerusalem, Your holy mountain; because for our sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and Your people have become a reproach to all who are around us.

“‘Now therefore, our God, hear the prayer of Your servant, and his supplications,... cause Your face to shine on Your sanctuary, which is desolate.’”

Dear Father, shine in Jerusalem and in the church around the world and in us, in our families, in our businesses, in our relationships, in Jesus’ name.

“‘O my God, incline Your ear and hear; open Your eyes and see our desolations, and the city which is called by Your name; for we do not present our supplications before You because of our righteous deeds, but because of Your great mercies.'"

Lord, we receive it for ourselves, for Your mercy endures forever. Everything under our covering is being purified, cleansed, and washed away from the judgment that should come: our families, our ministries, our businesses.

“‘O Lord, hear! O Lord, forgive! O Lord, listen and act! Do not delay for Your own sake, my God, for Your city and Your people who are called by Your name...’” have humbled themselves and prayed. We are turning from our wicked ways. And You promised and we contend that You will heal our land, that You will heal Jerusalem, that You will heal all of Israel. You will heal the United States and You will bless our leaders to see and to hear from You in Jesus’ name.

We put You in remembrance of the everlasting ordinances. You shall keep them. And we have faith in You and in Your mercy. Hear us. Listen. Act. Do not delay. We release favor with God and man. Halellujah!

Now … be ready for the possession of the land. Be ready for the greatest year that you’ve ever had in the midst of turbulence and roaring seas. Get ready for the peace that surpasses all understanding!

Scriptures in italics on this page are from Daniel 9:3-6, 15-19. “The Jewish Secret of Prosperity” is 2006 by Rabbi Curt Landry, House of David Congregation. Used by permission. This article is excerpted from the seven CD "Covenant Series" offered online here.

Dear Mishpochah,

For many years we have prayed and believed (sowed to the Spirit) for our television show to be on top secular television. After many years of believing, I almost gave up.

But God…. I feel so grateful. He is so faithful. It is so humbling. Joy and I should build an altar to God for his greatness.

I sent a copy of our television show to a Fox Network affiliate, the number one viewed secular television station in Charlotte, North Carolina. They not only accepted our show, but gave us a prime time just before the popular morning talk shows!

The sales manager e-mailed his opinion of the show. “I thought it was ‘super’ and that you are clearly a ‘natural’ for this kind of work as a master communicator. The production value was also superb. I liked the casual but classy setting, the graphics, and re-enactment footage for visual relief from the static studio. I found the story riveting.”

Please pray that this beginning into the secular television arena will multiply. It will take prayer, favor and money. But God….

I plant this Scripture into your spirit to give you the desires of your heart. It is your due season. “And let us not be weary [lose heart] in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not [do not loosen and relax our courage] (Gal. 6:9, kjv).

I know we are walking into a season of God’s favor. Everything I have planted in nearly 30 years of ministry is ripe for harvest. Thank you for being part of the greatest Jewish revival in history. This Jewish harvest will breathe resurrection life into the church to form the One New Man to reach the world.

Recently, I met a Gentile pastor (Tim Alsbaugh) and Messianic Jewish Rabbi (Curt Landry) who partnered together to form a One New Man congregation. They have found that when a Jew and Gentile team up it releases greater revelation knowledge than when they are separate. They teach on the ancient understanding of covenant. When you comprehend this teaching in your spirit, it releases an instant “knowing” to receive your covenant blessings. This is a major revelation for the One New Man end-time, glorious move of God’s Spirit.

I pray you are blessed, highly favored and walking in divine health!

Shalom and Love,
