"Son of man, set your face against Gog, of the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal; prophesy against him and say: 'This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I am against you, O Gog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal. I will turn you around, put hooks in your jaws and bring you out with your whole army - your horses, your horsemen fully armed, and a great horde ... all of them brandishing their swords. Persia, Cush and Put will be with them, all with shields and helmets, also Gomer with all its troops, and Beth Togarmah from the far north with all its troops - the many nations with you.’” Ezek 38:1-6

EXPLOSIVES ADDRESSED TO CHICAGO SYNAGOGUES LIKELY FROM AL-QAIDA: Parcel bombs sent from Yemen destined for the US have hallmarks of the terrorist group al Qaida, US Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano reported on Saturday. On Friday, US President Barack Obama said that packages containing explosives found in Britain and Dubai had been addressed to two Jewish places of worship in Chicago. British Home Secretary Theresa May said Britain would act immediately to stop the movement of all unaccompanied air freight from Yemen into or through the UK. The device found on a US bound cargo plane at a British airport could have brought down an aircraft if it had exploded, May said on Saturday. Yemeni authorities are checking dozens more packages in the search for the terrorists who sent the bombs. There were reports that up to 20 similar suspect packages had been sent from Sana’a, the capital of Yemen, targeting synagogues in the US. President Obama said authorities were investigating a “credible terrorist threat” against America. (Ha’aretz) Pray all parcel bombs directed towards the US- more specifically, towards Jewish places of worship in the US - will be discovered and destroyed.

SHIPPER: WEAPONS CACHE SEIZED IN NIGERIA CAME FROM IRAN: A weapons cache containing artillery rockets seized by Nigerian security agents at the West African nation's busiest port originally came from Iran, an international shipping company said Saturday. The statement from CMA CGM, an international cargo shipper based in France, comes after Israeli officials accused Iran of trying to sneak the shipment into the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip. By unloading the weapons in Nigeria, the Israeli claim suggests Iran sought to truck the weapons through Africa to slide around an embargo now in place in Gaza. (J.Post)

US SLAMS SYRIAN INTERFERENCE IN LEBANON: Ambassador to the UN Susan Rice said Thursday, "We continue to have deep concerns about Hizbullah's destructive and destabilizing influence in the region, as well as the attempts by other foreign players, including Syria and Iran, to undermine Lebanon's independence and endanger its stability.... Syria, especially, has displayed flagrant disregard for the sovereignty, territorial integrity, unity, and political independence of Lebanon under the sole and exclusive authority of the Lebanese government.”  Rice maintained that Syria continues to provide increasingly sophisticated weapons to Lebanese terrorists, including Hizbullah. "Hizbullah remains the most significant and most heavily armed Lebanese militia [terrorist organization]. It could not have done so if not for Syria's aid and facilitation of Syrian and Iranian arms."  (US Mission to the UN)

BAN KI-MOON CONCERNED OVER ARMED HIZBULLAH IN LEBANON: UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said last week that he is concerned about Hizbullah in Lebanon having weapons and he believes the group should lay down its arms. Ban said both local and foreign militias - that are not subject to government control - are active in Lebanon. The UN chief added that only political action within Lebanon could disarm Hizbullah and other terrorist groups. The Hizbullah terrorist organization, in response to Ban’s statement, accused the UN of meddling in Lebanese civil affairs. (J.Post)

HIZBULLAH HAS 10,000 OPERATIVES MANNING 40,000 MISSILES: A recent article in the French daily Le Figaro revealed new information with details on the Hizbullah terrorist group's 10,000 operatives and arsenal of some 40,000 rockets. The report also focused on Syria's role in Hizbullah operations, in both manufacture and transportation of rockets. According to Le Figaro, Hizbullah has three units dedicated to the transportation and maintenance of its rocket arsenal. The weapons are moved using trucks with false number plates, according to the report. Le Figaro noted that Iranian officers are responsible for training Hizbullah terrorists. The information stressed that Hizbullah has now strategically based itself in Syria, and quoted military experts' speculation that manufacture of Iranian missiles is now being handled in Syria, for ease of transport. YOUR DONATIONS ARE GREATLY APPRECIATED: Did you know that according to the October 2010 Central Bureau of Statistics report that 29% of the Israeli population is at risk of poverty compared to an average of 16% in the European Union? CBS data confirms 38% of Israeli children are at risk of poverty compared to 19% in the EU and 33% of elderly Israelis compared to 20% in the EU. At the beginning of this school year alone, Vision for Israel & the Joseph Store House distributed 7,000 school packs for needy children - with more to go. This is only one of our many projects to help the impoverished in Israel. Please continue to enable us to assist terrorist victims and Holocaust survivors, entire households suffering from hardship, the elderly and others in need in Israel. TURKISH DOCUMENT DEFINES ISRAEL AS CENTRAL THREAT: The Turkish National Security Council approved a few days ago significant changes in a document which cites threats against Turkey claiming that Israel is now a major danger to the country. This is the first time Turkey has defined Israel's actions in the Middle East as a threat towards it. The document also stated that Israel's actions may cause countries in the region to begin an "arms race." At the same time the Council decided to remove Syria, Bulgaria, Georgia and Armenia from the list of countries that pose a threat to Turkey. Iran, which was previously a major threat to Ankara was also removed from the list of countries. (J.Post) End time alliance of nations that will come against Israel: Magog - southern portion of the former Soviet Union; Rosh - Russia; Meshech and Tubal - Turkey; Persia - Iran; Cush - Sudan; Put - Libya (possibly Algeria and Tunisia as well); Beth Togarmah - Turkey; Armenia and other Turkic-speaking peoples who spread into other countries across central Asia. Present day headlines suggest many of these players are coming together in ways that will lead to a proactive invasion force against Israel. Russia, Iran, Sudan, the “stan” nations, Libya and now Turkey could easily be imagined to unilaterally come together under existing political, religious and diplomatic posturing.

IDF: ONLY 60% OF ISRAELIS WILL BE EQUIPPED WITH GAS MASKS: Only 60% of Israel's population will be in possession of gas masks by 2012. Approximately 24% of Israeli citizens do not have access to bomb shelters. The nationwide distribution of gas mask kits began in May, part of a program in which masks were expected to be provided to the entire population over the next three years. However, NIS 230 million in insufficient funds means that current production lines will provide only 60% of the population with gas masks. (Ha’aretz)

RESEARCHERS UNEARTH PARADISE LOST NEAR JERUSALEM: Researchers at Tel Aviv University, in collaboration with Heidelberg University in Germany, have uncovered an ancient royal garden dating back to the 7th century BCE at the site of Ramat Rachel near Jerusalem. A main feature of the Ramat Rachel gardens is its intricate irrigation system, the likes of which have never been seen before outside of Mesopotamia. (Science Daily)
