“They will come with weeping; they will pray as I bring them back. I will lead them beside streams of water on a level path where they will not stumble, because I am Israel's father, and Ephraim is my firstborn son.” Jer 31:9
CHRISTIANS UNITE IN ISRAEL FOR MASS BAPTISM: Some 1500 Christian pilgrims from 35 different countries participated in a mass baptism last week in the Jordan River. The religious ceremony was conducted at Yardenit, one of the sites along the Jordan where Yeshua is believed to have been baptized. Christians from India to the Ukraine were immersed in the waters of the Jordan River. (Ha’aretz)
JEWISH BIRTH RATE IN ISRAEL AT RECORD HIGH: A Hebrew University demography professor has announced there were more Jewish births in the past year in Israel than any other time in the history of the State. Professor Sergio Della-Pergola said the Jewish population has seen a moderate increase in fertility rates in the past year (2.9 children), with the largest number of births of Jews in the nation's history. (Arutz-7)
ISRAELI TEAM FINDS GENETIC LINK TO KIDNEY DISEASE: In a major breakthrough in kidney disease research, a team of Israeli scientists led by Dr. Karl Skorecki has isolated a genetic mutation that is linked to contracting the disease, the first step in developing a cure. Dr. Karl Skorecki is a nephrologist by profession and the only child of Holocaust survivors. (INN)
GAZA TERROR ATTACK ON ISRAELI KIBBUTZ HERALDS JEWISH NEW YEAR: Gaza terrorists launched a mortar attack on children and their parents in southern Israel Wednesday, just hours before the start of Rosh HaShanah, the Jewish New Year. One mortar exploded close to several kindergarten buildings in a Negev kibbutz, just half an hour before the children were set to arrive. No one was wounded in the attack, but at least one of the buildings was damaged. Miraculously, the shell landed between two of the buildings, according to one of the residents, who noted that things “could have ended very differently.” (Arutz-7) Prayers for miracles of protection for Israeli civilians are being answered. Please keep praying that G-d will be a shield around his people.
PM DEMANDS PALESTINIANS RECOGNIZE ISRAEL AS JEWISH STATE: PM Binyamin Netanyahu on Sunday called on the Palestinians to recognize Israel as a state for the Jewish people. Referring to the second round of direct talks scheduled for Sharm e-Sheikh on Tuesday, Netanyahu warned that recognition of Israel as a Jewish state is "fundamental" to Middle East Peace, amid a growing rift between Israel and the Palestinians over the formula for new negotiations. (J.Post)
OBAMA SIDESTEPS PA’s REFUSAL TO CALL ISRAEL A JEWISH STATE: US President Barack Obama has sidestepped a chance to back PM Netanyahu’s demand that the Palestinian Authority call Israel a Jewish State, but he told reporters that Netanyahu should accept Abbas’ demand and extend the building freeze for four more months. The freeze on building Jewish homes in Judea and Samaria, and the issue of Israel’s being a Jewish State, are the major demands that PA Chairman Abbas and PM Netanyahu have made for direct talks to address the issue of establishing the PA as a new Arab country. Palestinian leader Abbas clarified for his people last week that he intends to make not even one concession or compromise in direct peace negotiations with Israel and that for a final status peace to be achieved Israel will have to fully meet all Arab demands and abandon its own conditions. (INN) The building freeze is a serious issue for the Jewish state. As of November 2009, approximately 280,000 Israelis live in the 121 officially-recognized settlements in the West Bank, a further 190,000 Israelis live in settlements in East Jerusalem. Settlements range from farming communities to suburbs to frontier villages, and, in the case of East Jerusalem, city neighborhoods. The three largest settlements, Modi'in Illit, Maale Adumim and Betar Illit, are cities with over 30,000 residents each. These Jewish communities include homes, schools, government buildings, shopping centers and thriving business. The US and the Palestinian Authority are insisting Israel forgo even natural growth construction to meet the need for additional schools, medical facilities, apartments, and shops. The reason for this is to accommodate the outrageous Palestinian hopes/demands that Israelis will eventually agree to walk away from these thriving towns and neighborhoods and turn them over to their enemies in return for a false peace. What other nation would agree to such contemptible pressures and dictates?
ADL: TIME MAGAZINE ISRAEL STORY REHASHES ANTISEMITIC LIES: A Time magazine cover story claiming Israelis are more interested in their booming economy than reaching an historical peace agreement with the Palestinians is another version of the antisemitic falsehood that Jews prefer money above any other interest, the Anti Defamation League said on Thursday. The ADL's response came after Time magazine revealed this week's cover story, titled "Why Israel Doesn’t Care About Peace," in which various prominent Israeli figures are quoted as stating that Israelis don't consider Palestinians an existential threat but as a nuisance to their economy. "The truth is Israelis are no more preoccupied with the matter of peace," the article read, adding that Israelis were otherwise engaged, making money and enjoying rays of the late summer. (Ha’aretz)
TERRORIST PLANNED TO ATTACK IDF EVENT IN PARIS: French authorities have arrested an Egyptian terrorist for planning to attack an IDF fundraising event in Paris, according to France’s anti-terror chief, Squarcini Bernard. He said the threat of terrorism in France has never been greater. (INN) “So there is hope for your future," declares the Lord. "Your children will return to their own land.” Jer 31:17

This arm of their ministry focuses on assisting the poor and needy, widows and orphans, and reaching out to the new Jewish immigrants coming into the land of Israel. Vision 's most challenging project to date is "The Joseph StorehouseŽ", humanitarian aid center, located in the hills of Jerusalem. The Joseph Storehouse functions as a channel of blessing to all of Israel, Jewish and Arab, through the gathering and distribution of emergency medical supplies, food, clothing, and other basic life necessities.
