FOUR KILLED IN ATTACK, INCLUDING PREGNANT WOMAN: Police and IDF troops are searching for the terrorists who murdered four Israelis in an attack in the Hebron area Tuesday night. Among the four people killed was a woman in her ninth month of pregnancy. The victims are a husband and wife, parents of six, and two passengers. According to police, the attack came from a gang that had been lying in wait. After the initial shootings disabled the vehicle and wounded passengers, the Arab terrorists approached the car and shot the victims at close range in order to ensure that they were dead. Emergency service paramedics could do nothing to save the victims whose bodies were riddled with bullets. The funerals of the four victims of Tuesday night’s Palestinian terrorist attack were held Wednesday morning. (INN) Pray for the grieving families and for the orphans who have buried their parents. Pray also for the murderers to be brought to justice and for the protection of the entire Jewish state as so called "peace talks" take place in Washington.
HAMAS VOWS MORE ATTACKS TO COME: The Hamas terrorist organization issued a statement on Tuesday claiming responsibility for the shooting attack in the West Bank that left four Israeli civilians dead. "Hamas praises the attack," said Sami Abu-Zuhri, a Hamas spokesman in Gaza. He added that the successful assault was proof "of a failure of security coordination" between Israel and the Palestinians. Hamas, which rules the Gaza Strip, opposes the peace talks that started in Washington on Wednesday. The terrorist group promised it would carry out more operations after claiming responsibility for the shooting. (Ha’aretz)
NETANYAHU, BARAK VOW TO PUNISH ALL INVOLVED IN WEST BANK SHOOTING: Defense Minister Ehud Barak vowed on Tuesday that Israel would "exact a price" from those who shot dead four Israeli civilians in the West Bank. "This is an attempt by lowly terrorists to sabotage the efforts to achieve a diplomatic process and to try to hurt the chances of the talks opening in Washington," Barak said in a statement. PM Benjamin Netanyahu was informed of the incident while en route to Washington where he and other Mideast leaders are preparing for talks aimed at a Palestinian-Israeli peace agreement. Netanyahu spoke of the terrorist attack just prior to his meeting Tuesday night with US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. He said, "Terrorism will not determine the fate of Judea and Samaria residents or borders. These issues and others will be determined during negotiations." Netanyahu promised that all those involved in the killings of four Israelis in the West Bank would be punished. (Ha’aretz)
MKs TO NETANYAHU: COME HOME NOW: MK Aryeh Eldad (National Union) called on PM Netanyahu Tuesday to call off the planned direct talks with the Palestinian Authority and to return to Israel immediately to "participate in the immediate response that is required" following the multiple murder near Hebron. Eldad rebuked "everyone who took part in building the myth that PA chief Mahmoud Abbas controls the territory" and called upon them to sober up immediately. MK Dr. Michael Ben-Ari (NU) said the terror attack on the outskirts of Kiryat Arba is a reminder to Netanyahu regarding the identity of his partners in negotiations. "The blood of the victims is upon the head of the Likud government," said Ben-Ari (INN)
RESPONSE TO ATTACK: THAWING THE CONSTRUCTION FREEZE: The Yesha Council of Jewish Communities in Judea and Samaria announced that in response to Tuesday night's murderous attack, it will be “breaking the construction freeze” four weeks early. The Council is galvanizing the Jewish towns and communities in Yesha to begin building new homes as early as Wednesday evening. The ten-month freeze on Jewish construction in Judea and Samaria announced by the government for the sake of getting the PA to negotiate with Israel is scheduled to end on Sept. 26. (INN)
NETANYAHU: I NEVER PROMISED TO EXTEND WEST BANK CONSTRUCTION FREEZE: PM Benjamin Netanyahu said Sunday he had not made any promises to US President Obama regarding an extension of the settlement construction freeze in the West Bank. "We made no proposals to the Americans on extending the freeze," Netanyahu said. "We said the future of the communities will be discussed as one of the elements of a final-status settlement, along with the other issues." Netanyahu sharply criticized the Palestinian demand for extending Israel's 10-month construction freeze, which expires September 26. (Ha’aretz) Pray according to scripture: "Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes.” Is 54:2
REPORT: HEZBOLLAH, SYRIA TO JOIN FORCES IN FUTURE CLASH WITH ISRAEL: The Lebanon-based Shi'ite terrorist group Hezbollah and the Syrian army have initiated a significant military cooperation in joint preparation for the possibility of a future armed conflict with Israel. Recent exchanges between the two organizations entailed trading information regarding strategic sites within Israel, including airports and other facilities, as well as dividing up the prospective war fronts between themselves. The report also stated that Damascus and Hezbollah worked together on the possibility of joint artillery strike against Israel. (Ha’aretz) Pray G-d’s promise over Israel: “He delivered me from my strong enemy, from those who hated me.” Ps 18:17
JEWISH TEACHER SUSPENDED FOR TEACHING 'TOO MUCH' ABOUT HOLOCAUST: A French history teacher in Nancy, France, has been suspended for breaching the principle of secularism and neutrality. The French education ministry concluded she was teaching too much about the Holocaust and spending too much time organizing trips for her students to Nazi death camps in Poland and the Czech Republic. Catherine Pederzoli, 58, was accused of "lacking distance, neutrality and secularism" in teaching the Holocaust. (Ha’aretz)
