"Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud, and He shall hear my voice.” Ps 55:17

OBAMA BACKS GROUND ZERO MOSQUE: US President Barack Obama on Friday forcefully endorsed allowing a mosque near the site of the former World Trade Center, saying the country's founding principles demanded no less, even though 70% of US citizens opposed the mosque's construction in a recent poll. "As a citizen, and as president, I believe Muslims have the same right to practice their religion as anyone else in this country," Obama said. He made the comments at an annual dinner in the White House Dining Room celebrating the Islamic holy month of Ramadan. The White House had not previously taken a stand on the mosque, which would be part of a $100 million Islamic center two blocks from where nearly 3,000 people perished when hijacked jetliners slammed into the World Trade Center towers on Sept. 11, 2001. AL-QAEDA PLOTS AGAINST SAUDI MONARCHS AND ISRAEL: Al-Qaeda leaders in Yemen have put out a call to topple Saudi rulers and murder Christians living in Saudi Arabia, according to a taped statement released last week. The person speaking in the tape identified himself as a senior Al-Qaeda operative. The tape also included a call for rogue terrorist attacks on Israel. Addressing Al-Qaeda supporters in the Saudi Arabian army, the speaker said, “Bear arms against Israel... Whoever is a pilot should seek martyrdom in the skies of Palestine, and whoever is in the navy should aim his weapons at the Jews....”  US officials have issued a warning to Americans staying north of Riyadh that terrorists may be planning to attack Western nationals in the Al-Qassim province. Turkey has offered to join Iran in sending weapons to Hizbullah in Lebanon, with help from Syria, according to a report published in an Italian newspaper. The daily Corriere Della Sera quoted sources who said Turkey will “send sophisticated weapons, rockets and guns to Syria that will end up in Lebanon.” The spokespersons went on to say the Iranian Revolutionary Guards would “facilitate the transition, ensure safety, watch loads on the routes, and provide support to the border.” According to the report, Iran intends to build a network that will supply the Gaza-based Hamas terrorist organization with weapons as well. PA VIOLENCE CONTINUES EVEN THOUGH DIRECT TALKS REPORTED TO BE NEAR: Palestinian Authority Arab terrorist groups have stepped up their attacks in Judea and Samaria as pressure over Israel-PA negotiations increases. Two IDF soldiers and a civilian woman were wounded in rock-throwing attacks in the past week. In other such assaults, vehicles were damaged, but the passengers escaped injury. PA officials recently admitted Chairman Mahmoud Abbas is under intense pressure to agree to direct negotiations with Israel. Abbas has demanded that Israel freeze construction east of the 1949 armistice line and agree to use the line as the base for negotiations on the borders of a PA state. Only when Israel concedes will the PA begin talks, he says. Recent reports suggest Israel is under pressure to agree to Abbas' demands. On Friday, the London-based Arabic daily Al-Hayyat reported PM Binyamin Netanyahu has agreed to give Abbas 90% of Judea and Samaria for the establishment of a PA state, and to forcibly expel the roughly 50,000 Jews living in the area. (INN) Continue to pray for wisdom and courage for Israel’s leaders not to bend to outrageous foreign demands to achieve a false peace with those who have no intention of relinquishing their hatred and violence towards the Jewish state.

Taliban mullahs this month condemned a pregnant Afghan widow, sentencing her to being publicly flogged and then shot three times in the head in Western Afghanistan. Bibi Sanubar, 35, was kept in captivity for three days before being publicly tried by a Taliban court of having an "illicit affair" that left her pregnant. Before being executed, she was first lashed 200 times. The shooting is a harsh reminder of the Taliban’s rule in Afghanistan. Those found guilty of theft or robbery often had their hands and feet chopped off by the Taliban regime. (Worthy News) According to the Gospel of John, the Pharisees, in an attempt to discredit Yeshua, brought a woman charged with adultery before him. They reminded him that adultery was punishable by stoning under Mosaic law and challenged him to judge the woman so that they might then accuse him of disobeying the law. Yeshua then replied, “He that is without sin among you, let him cast the first stone at her.” The people crowded around him were so touched by their own consciences they departed. When Yeshua found himself alone with the woman, he asked her who were her accusers. She replied, “No man, Lord.” He then said, “Neither do I condemn thee: go and sin no more.” John 8: 3-11

ISRAEL AIMS TO BE SPACE SUPERPOWER: PM Binyamin Netanyahu is set to approve a plan to turn Israel into a satellite superpower. According to media sources the aim is to increase sales of Israeli space platforms to nearly $8 billion a year. The multi-year plan calls for the government to annually increase support for space research and development by several hundred million shekels. This investment would focus on new platforms – primarily Israel’s niche market in “mini satellites” – intended to yield billions in sales. (J.Post)

3,500-YEAR OLD BRACELET FOUND NEAR TZFAT: Archaeologists in Israel are excited at their latest find: a bronze bracelet from 3,500 years ago, in southeast Tzfat in the Galilee. The excavation of the first known village from the Late Bronze period – roughly the time of the Biblical Joseph – is taking place in the Ramat Razim area. The work is being done in preparation for the construction of new neighborhoods, commercial areas, an access road and a medical school in the area. (Arutz-7)
