SECRETARY OF STATE CLINTON SAYS US MUST IGNORE VIOLENCE TO BOOST MIDDLE EAST DEMOCRACIES: The US must look past the violence and extremism that has erupted after the "Arab Spring" revolutions and boost support for the region's young democracies to forge long-term security, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said on Friday. Clinton, seeking to reinforce the Obama administration's Middle East policy following a wave of anti-American violence and last month's deadly attack on the US mission in Benghazi, Libya, said Washington cannot be deterred by the violent acts of a small number of extremists. "We recognize these transitions are not America's to manage, and certainly not ours to win or lose," Clinton said in a speech to the Center for Strategic and International Studies. "But we have to stand with those who are working every day to strengthen democratic institutions and drive inclusive economic growth. That will produce more capable partners and more durable security over the long term." (J.Post) Terrorist organizations such as the Muslim Brotherhood, Hizbullah, Hamas, al-Qaeda and terrorist groups affiliated with it, are anything but a “small number of extremists,” as described by Hillary Clinton. The fact most of these terrorist blocs are supported by Iran is an additional reality that cannot be ignored. All of the above mentioned Islamist entities are haters of and committed to the downfall of Israel and the US.

MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD CHIEF CALLS FOR HOLY WAR AGAINST ISRAEL: The head of the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood called for Muslims to "raise the flag of Jihad" to liberate Jerusalem. In a statement issued Thursday in Egypt's Al-Ahram, Mohammed Badie said negotiations are pointless. "Let Muslims know and let believers be certain the recovery of the holy sites and the safeguarding of goods and blood from the hands of the Jews will not be through the corridors of the UN, nor through negotiations," Badie said. "The Zionists will not step back from transgression unless they are forced to. This will only be by holy Jihad, and enormous sacrifices and all forms of resistance." (Investigative Project on Terrorism) “May all who hate Zion be turned back in shame.” Ps 129:5

JORDAN MAY BE THE NEXT TO FALL: Should Jordan's King Abdullah II become the next Arab ruler to fall, it will mark another major setback for the US in the region. For Israel it's significantly worse news. Jerusalem would lose its remaining strategic partner in the region - having already lost Turkey and Egypt - and face a possible nightmare on its longest border, exposing the country's center to attacks from the east that might include Sunni Jihadists or Iranian-trained Iraqi agents. In neighboring Syria, Assad's fall at the hands of Islamist rebels could put wind in the sails of Jordan's own Muslim Brotherhood party. At protests last week in Amman organized by the Brotherhood, "The turnout was much larger than the 8,000 that the government claims attended," said Hassan Barari, a political analyst at Jordan University. "It was 35,000-40,000." The reality is there's little the US can do at this point to protect one of its most steadfast allies in the region. (Tablet) Continue to pray the influence of the Muslim Brotherhood terrorist organization will be turned back in Egypt and in the entire region where it is attempting to gain political and military strongholds.

PM Binyamin Netanyahu disclosed Thursday that the drone aircraft which flew 35 miles last weekend into Israeli territory before being shot down by the IDF was sent by the Lebanese Hizbullah, a powerful Shiite group committed to Israel's destruction, and an Iranian proxy force. Hizbullah boss Hassan Nasrallah said later his organization had indeed launched the drone. He warned there would be more such operations. "This is not the first time and will not be the last. We can reach any place we want in Israel." Netanyahu said Israel would act with determination to defend its borders, just as "we thwarted over the weekend Hizbullah's attempt to penetrate Israeli airspace." Hizbullah fired several thousand rockets and missiles into Israel during a month-long war in 2006. IRANIAN MINISTER: WORLD WILL PAY FOR SANCTIONS: Iran's minister of economic affairs and finance on Friday said the West would “pay a price” for sanctions on his country. The minister, Shamseddin Hosseini, added that Iran's foreign exchange reserves are in a "good position." He warned that Western firms would suffer as Iran moves to trade with other nations. “Turkey has now become our important trading partner in place of Germany, while China may grab the market share that Japan used to have,” he added. Hosseini also warned, “Those who imposed sanctions are to pay a price.” The comments came as the Iranian economy continues to suffer as a result of the sanctions. In one week, Iran's rial currency shed around 40% of its value, sharply accelerating a slide that has gone on over the course of this year. Last week scuffles broke out in Tehran as citizens protested the country’s failing economy. Israel’s FM Avigdor Lieberman has predicted international sanctions could trigger a popular uprising in Iran like the revolt in Egypt that toppled president Hosni Mubarak. (Arutz-7)

IRAN’S SEA TRADE BUCKLES UNDER WESTERN SANCTIONS: Iran's vital seaborne trade is buckling under the weight of Western sanctions, deepening hardship for a population deprived of basic imports and heaping intense pressure on Tehran over its nuclear program. Many of Iran's imports, including food and consumer goods, arrive on ships. But the number of vessels calling at its ports has dived by more than half this year as the US and EU tighten the screws. Analysts doubt the Iranian economy is near collapse, even though its rial currency has plunged in the last few weeks, but they say some shortages and the rising prices of imported goods could provoke public unrest directed at Tehran's leadership. A growing number of Western companies, especially those in shipping and related businesses, are pulling out of trade with Iran due to the complexities of deals and tougher banking restrictions as the sanctions take hold - and out of fear of losing business elsewhere. EGYPT TENSIONS SPARK CLASHES IN CAIRO’S TAHRIR SQUARE: Fresh clashes have broken out in the Egyptian capital Cairo in the worst violence since President Mohammed Morsi took office at the end of June. Scores of people were reported injured as supporters and opponents of Morsi fought in Tahrir Square. Tensions are high after Egyptian judges criticized the president’s attempt to remove the country's top prosecutor. It follows the acquittal of 24 people accused of attacks on protesters during last year's uprising. Witnesses said a rally critical of the president was taking place in Tahrir Square on Friday when a crowd of his supporters stormed their stage. Fighting broke out and protesters pelted each other with stones, bottles and petrol bombs. The Health Ministry put the number of injured at 110. "My conclusion is that Morsi is just the president of the Muslim Brotherhood, that's all," said one protester. Another, Rania Mohsen, said: "We are here against turning the state into a Brotherhood state. We do not want to replace the old regime with one like the old one." (BBC)

OBAMA’S MUSLIM RING: According to a news story on the respected Worldnet News Daily (WND) web site – with an accompanying array of photos as evidence – US President Barack Obama has been wearing, since his days in college, a ring on which is inscribed the Shahada, the main Muslim prayer. The Egyptian-born Islamic scholar and author of five books on Islam, Mark Gabriel, said based on the photos, Obama, if not a Muslim, had a very close connection to the religion. “There can be no doubt that someone wearing the inscription ‘There is no god except Allah,’ the main feature of the Shahada, has a very close connection to Islamic beliefs, the Islamic religion and Islamic society to which this statement is so strongly attached,” the scholar was quoted as saying. Obama has for years denied any connection to Islam, stating he is a Christian, but Gabriel said Obama's wearing of the ring did not jibe with that claim. “Christians never use the statement,” he explained. The ring was also described in a 2009 NY Times article recounting Obama's wedding with his wife Michelle. The article quotes the Times' piece as noting the “intricate design” on Obama's ring, unlike Michelle's, which was a traditional wedding ring. Apparently, the article said, many people who have come into contact with Obama over the years have noted the ring and questioned the President about its meaning, with Obama dodging an answer each time. The article also contains an excerpt from an interview by Nicholas Kristoff, an op-ed writer for the NY Times, with Obama during the 2008 campaign. Kristoff discussed with Obama his childhood education in Indonesia, where Obama said he attended Islamic school, and learned the Adhan, the call to prayer that is broadcast at mosques around the world five times a day, which he demonstrated for Kristoff. The writer noted that Obama, who said the prayer in Arabic, pronounced it with “a first-rate accent.” He then went on to quote Obama as saying the prayer, as far as he was concerned, was “one of the prettiest sounds on Earth….” (WND/ INN)

BILLY GRAHAM MEETS WITH ROMNEY, GOV. ASKS FOR PRAYER: Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney met with Billy Graham on Thursday. Romney asked the 93-year-old evangelist to pray for him for the duration of the campaign. “I’ll do all I can to help you,” Graham said. Graham and his son, Franklin, met with Romney at Graham’s North Carolina home in Asheville, N.C. The meeting lasted 30 minutes. "It was an honor to meet and host Gov. Romney in my home today, especially since I knew his late father, former Michigan Gov. George Romney, whom I considered a friend,” Graham said. “I have followed Mitt Romney's career in business, as governor of Massachusetts and, of course, as a candidate for president of the United States.” Graham said what impresses him even more than Romney's successful career are his values and strong moral convictions. Graham appreciates his faithful commitment to his “impressive family.” He said it was a privilege to pray with Gov. Romney - for his family and the country. “I will turn 94 the day after the upcoming election, and I believe America is at a crossroads,” Graham said. “I hope millions of Americans will join me in praying for our nation and to vote for candidates who will support the biblical definition of marriage, protect the sanctity of life and defend our religious freedoms." (Charisma News) May we join our prayers with those of Billy Graham on behalf of the United States and the coming presidential elections.
