“The Lord will lay bare His holy arm in the sight of all the nations,
and all the ends of the earth will see the salvation of our God.” Isa 52: 10

WEST WARNS IRAN: TIME FOR NEGOTIATIONS RUNNING OUT: The US, Britain and France all warned Iran in the Security Council on Thursday that time was running out for negotiations over its nuclear program, but stopped short of drawing the red lines that Israel’s PM Binyamin Neteanyahu has demanded. The West “will not engage in an endless process of negotiations that fail to produce any results,” US Ambassador Susan Rice said at a Security Council meeting on Iran sanctions. “We must therefore remain clear and united in seeking resolution of the international community’s concerns regarding Iran’s nuclear program. Time is wasting.” Three rounds of negotiations since April between Iran and the P5+1 – the US, Russia, China, France, Germany and Britain – have led nowhere. French Ambassador Gerard Araud said that while the West was asking Iran to negotiate, “Iran is not negotiating.” Rice, in an NBC interview on Sunday, came out against setting red lines, saying the US “bottom line” is that Iran will not acquire a nuclear weapon “and we will take no option off the table to ensure that it does not acquire a nuclear weapon, including the military option.” Rice added there was still “time and space for the pressure we are mounting, which is unprecedented in terms of sanctions, to still yield results.” (J.Post) Might this type of unreality fall under the category of “loving and believing a lie” spoken of in 2 Thess 2:11? Meanwhile Iran’s nuclear weapons program keeps forging ahead.

REPORT: IRAN SHIPPING TONS OF WEAPONS, PERSONNEL TO SYRIA VIA IRAQ: Iran has been using civilian aircraft to fly military personnel and large quantities of weapons across Iraqi airspace to Syria to aid President Bashar Assad in his attempt to crush an 18-month uprising against his government, according to a Western intelligence report. On Wednesday, US Senator John Kerry threatened to review US aid to Baghdad if it does not halt the overflights. The Intelligence report say Iranian weapons have been flowing into Syria via Iraq in large quantities. "Planes are flying from Iran to Syria via Iraq on an almost daily basis, carrying IRGC (Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps) personnel and tens of tons of weapons to arm the Syrian security forces and militias fighting against the rebels." The intelligence report alleges the extent of such shipments is far greater than has been publicly acknowledged, and much more systematic, due to an agreement between senior Iraqi and Iranian officials. Kerry said he was alarmed US efforts thus far had not persuaded Baghdad to halt the overflights, and suggested the United States could in the future make some of the hundreds of millions of dollars in assistance it gives to Iraq contingent on their cooperation on Syria. "It seems completely inappropriate that we're trying to help build democracy, support them, put American lives on the line, money into the country, and they're working against our interest so overtly." (Ha’aretz) Pray Western officials will comprehend clearly that Islamic nations, regardless of their internal political struggles, are simply not interested in establishing democracies such as are known in the US and Europe.

FORMER SYRIAN GENERAL: ASSAD PLANNED TO TRANSFER CHEMICAL WEAPONS TO HIZBULLAH: Syrian President Bashar Assad’s government had plans in place to transfer chemical weapons to Hizbullah, according to former Syrian general turned defector, Major-General Adnan Sillu. The former Syrian general said that aside from plans to transfer weapons to Hizbullah, Syria had planned to use chemical weapons on the Syrian people, as a last resort. "We were in a serious discussion about the use of chemical weapons, including how we would use them and in what areas," Sillu was quoted as saying. "We discussed this as a last resort - such as if the regime lost control of an important area such as Aleppo." (Ha’aretz)

SYRIAN REGIME TESTED CHEMICAL WEAPONS FIRING SYSTEMS: Syria tested firing systems for poison gas shells at the country's largest chemical weapons research center at Safira, east of Aleppo, last month. The report came from Germany this week, citing statements from various witnesses. Several empty shells, designed to carry chemical weapons, were fired by tanks and helicopters in a desert location near the research center, witnesses were quoted as saying. Both the US and Israel have expressed concern over Syria's stockpile of chemical weapons falling into the wrong hands or being used by Syrian President Bashar Assad to quell the uprising in the country. Defense Minister Ehud Barak said in July that Israel would take military action if needed to prevent Syria's chemical weapons from falling into the hands of the Hizbullah terrorist group in Lebanon. The Safira chemical weapons research center includes scientists from North Korea and Iran who produce chemical weapons such as mustard gas and sarin which they test on animals. (J.Post) Continue to pray for complete restraint in the use of Syria’s chemical weapons. May they not fall into the hands of terrorist groups, be used against Israel or the Syrian people.

FORMER GITMO INMATE LEAD SUSPECT IN US EMBASSY ATTACK: As the search continues for those directly involved in last week's killing of US Ambassador to Libya, Chris Stevens, and the assault on the embassy in Benghazi, it has been revealed that a former inmate of the Guantanamo Bay detention facility may have been the leader of the attack. The deadly strike is also believed to have been directly tied to al-Qaeda. That revelation came on Wednesday, the same day a top Obama administration official called last week's tragedy a "terrorist attack.” It was the first time the assault had been described that way by the administration after claims it had been a "spontaneous" act. Sufyan Ben Qumu is thought to have been involved and even may have led the attack. Qumu, a Libyan, was released from the US prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, in 2007 and transferred into Libyan custody on the condition he be kept in jail. His files also show he has ties to the financiers behind the Sept.11 terrorist attacks. Olson, repeating Wednesday that the FBI is handling the Benghazi investigation, also acknowledged the hit could lead back to al-Qaeda and its affiliates. (Fox)

GIULIANI: OBAMA HASN’T FACED UP TO ISLAMIC EXTREMISTS: Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani said Wednesday that President Barack Obama "has not really faced up to Islamic extremist terrorism in the way that he should," as he accused the administration of trying to spin its way out of any responsibility for the attack on the US consulate in Libya. "There's been only false and almost irresponsible spinning out of the White House," Giuliani said of statements by administration officials claiming the attack that killed ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans was a spontaneous reaction to an anti-Islam video produced in the US. "I mean you would have to be stupid to believe this kind of stuff," Giuliani commented Wednesday evening. "And I think maybe they think the American people are stupid." Giuliani was reacting to a congressional testimony Wednesday from the National Counterterrorism Center’s director. Matthew Olsen told the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee that Stevens was killed last week "in the course of a terrorist attack" that apparently involved members of several terrorists groups and local extremists. NEW FRENCH CARTOONS INFLAME PROPHET FILM TENSIONS: A French magazine published offensive caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad on Wednesday, brandishing its right to free speech amid global tensions over a movie insulting to Islam. In response, the French government ordered embassies and schools to close this Friday in about 20 countries and tens of thousands marched in Lebanon in protest. The move by the provocative weekly Charlie Hebdo followed days of violent protests from Asia to Africa against the US film "Innocence of Muslims" and turned France into a potential target of Muslim rage. The French government ordered its embassies and French schools abroad to close on Friday, the Muslim holy day, as a precautionary measure in about 20 countries. It immediately shut down the French Embassy and the French school in Tunisia, which saw deadly film-related protests at the US Embassy there last week. In the Lebanese port city of Tyre, tens of thousands of people marched through the streets Wednesday, chanting "Oh America, you are God's enemy!  Knesset Speaker Reuven Rivlin said Thursday that due to the furor in the Muslim world over caricatures in a French satire magazine, "Europe understands the Israeli reality, more than ever. The conflict between democratic values and religious beliefs is erupting now in Europe. But in Israel, as a Jewish democratic state, we have been dealing with this reality since its establishment." (AP) Pray for the protection of the French Jewish community in the rising tide of antisemitism and Muslim violence.

KOSHER STORE IN PARIS ATTACKED IN FIRE BOMB ATTACK: A package bomb exploded inside a kosher grocery store in a Paris suburb Wednesday, wounding at least one person, according to an agency that tracks antisemitic attacks in France. The reason for the assault was unclear, but it proved nerve-shattering amid global tensions surrounding a US-produced film insulting to Islam. The French grocery store attack came a few hours after a satirical French weekly published caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad, prompting anger from French Muslim groups. One French news agency reported four people were injured and are being treated for wounds to their arms and legs from the explosion and broken glass. (AP)

MK TO FRENCH PRESIDENT: PROTECT JEWISH SCHOOLS: MK Danny Danon, chairman of the Knesset's Aliyah, Absorption and Diaspora Committee, says the committee will hold an urgent session to discuss the firebomb attack on a kosher supermarket in France. He sent a letter to the French President immediately following the incident asking him to increase security at Jewish learning institutions. "The Jews must be protected, so that we do not see a Toulouse 2," he wrote, in a reference to a murderous attack on a Jewish school in March. MK Danon is convinced the attack is linked to Islamic violence over a video called "The Innocence of Muslims" and some anti-Muslim cartoons published in France this week. "The extremist elements who murdered the US ambassador in Libya and are now trying to attack Jews worldwide should find themselves behind bars as soon as possible," said Danon. The committee session is to determine if there is a tangible threat to Diaspora Jews, and if so, what steps the government should take in order to forestall a global anti-Jewish wave. (INN)

IDF FOILS TERROR ATTACK: The IDF, in a joint operation with the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet), was able to foil a planned terror attack in Israel on Wednesday evening, as IAF aircraft struck and killed two terrorists in southern Gaza. The two terrorists were members of a group calling itself “The Al-Aqsa Defenders”, which the IDF said is supported by Hamas. The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit confirmed the strike in a statement, adding that direct hits were identified. (Arutz-7) Continue to pray all terrorist plots against Israel will be detected and averted.
