“In faithfulness He will bring forth justice. He will not falter or be discouraged till He establishes justice on the earth.” Isa 42:3-4

ABBAS PROPOSED CANCELLING OSLO AGREEMENT: Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas proposed cancelling the Oslo agreement as well as the associated economic and security arrangements during meetings on Saturday and Sunday with PA leaders. The report came from a senior Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) member on Tuesday. PLO Executive Committee members were said to have had mixed opinions on the issue and decided to postpone a decision until their next meeting. What seems to have prompted the Palestinians to consider canceling the agreements with Israel is the part of the Oslo Accords that deals with, presently troubled, economic relations between the two entities. MITT ROMNEY LAMBASTS 2-STATE SOLUTION: US Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney questioned the feasibility of the establishment of a Palestinian state in the West Bank, according to video footage published Tuesday. "I'm torn by two perspectives in this regard," Romney said. "One is that the Palestinians have no interest whatsoever in establishing peace, and that the pathway to peace is almost unthinkable to accomplish.” Romney then launched into a hypothetical scenario in which Israelis allow the Palestinians to establish a state in the West Bank but are then forced to contend with unsolvable security and border issues. It is "maybe seven miles from Tel Aviv to what would be the West Bank," he said, repeating an oft-cited Israeli security concern alleging that an opposing Arab army in the West Bank could cut Israel in half horizontally in a matter of minutes. "And now how about the airport?" he asked. Romney said the Palestinians would demand full control over its own borders, and suggested they could open access to military armaments. "And of course the Iranians would want to bring missiles and armament into the West Bank and potentially threaten Israel." Concluding the Palestinians remain "committed to the destruction and elimination of Israel," the US presidential candidate endorsed a strategy of maintaining the status quo. "You hope for some degree of stability, but you recognize this is going to remain an unsolved problem," he said. (J.Post)

ROMNEY: A NUCLEAR IRAN COULD BLACKMAIL AMERICA: If Iran obtains a nuclear bomb, the United States could be held hostage, US presidential candidate Mitt Romney has warned. He said in a video released this week that Iran’s “crazed fanatic” leaders could smuggle nuclear material to terrorists, who could sneak it into America. “Then if anything goes wrong, or America starts acting up, they’ll just say, ‘Guess what? Unless you stand down we’re going to let off a dirty bomb.’” Romney told his audience. “America could be held up and blackmailed by Iran, by the mullahs, by crazy people. So we really don’t have any option but to keep Iran from having a nuclear weapon,” he concluded. (INN)

NETANYAHU WARNS IRAN ON THE BRINK OF NUCLEAR BOMB IN 6-7 MONTHS: Israel’s PM Binyamin Netanyahu warned Sunday that Iran is just six to seven months away from being able to build a nuclear bomb, adding urgency to his demand that President Barack Obama set a clear "red line" for Tehran in what could deepen the worst US-Israeli rift in decades. Taking to the television airwaves to make his case directly to the American public, Netanyahu said by mid-2013, Iran would be 90% of the way toward enough enriched uranium for a bomb. He urged the US to spell out limits that Tehran must not cross if it is to avoid military action, which is something Obama has refused to do. The unusually public dispute - coupled with Obama's decision not to meet with Netanyahu later this month - has exposed a deep US-Israeli divide and stepped up pressure on the US leader in the final stretch of a tight presidential election campaign. It was the clearest marker Netanyahu has laid down so far on why he has become so strident in his push for Washington to confront Tehran with a strict ultimatum. (J. Post) “Who will rise up with me against the wicked? Who will take a stand with me against evil doers? Unless the Lord had given me help; I would have soon dwelt in the silence of death.” Ps 94:16-17

US, ALLIES HOLD INTERNATIONAL EXERCISE IN GULF: Warships from around the world assembled in the Gulf on Sunday for what the US military described as the most widely attended international naval exercise ever held in the Middle East. The drill, which Washington says involves maneuvers to improve mine detection and clearance, comes at a time of rising regional tensions over Iran's controversial nuclear program. Tehran has threatened to block the Strait of Hormuz, through which 40% of the world's sea-borne oil exports passes, and target US military bases in the region if attacked. In preparation for pre-emptive or retaliatory action by Iran to a potential Israel strike, battleships, aircraft carrier, minesweepers and submarines are preparing for a 12-day exercise. Countries participating in the drill include the United States, Britain France, Saudi Arabia and the AUE. (J.Post)

US WILL GO TO WAR WITH IRAN IN 2013, SAYS EX US AMBASSADOR TO ISRAEL: Former US ambassador to Israel Martin Indyk said Sunday he thinks the US will go to war with Iran over its nuclear program in 2013. Speaking during a panel on the CBS program Face the Nation, Indyk said, "I'm afraid that 2013 is going to be a year in which we're going to have a military confrontation with Iran." The former ambassador stated that Iran doesn't have a nuclear weapon, but added there's not a lot of time left until it does. "There is perhaps six months, even by PM Netanyahu’s own time table to try to see if a negotiated solution can be worked out," Indyk said. (Ha’aretz)

NASRALLAH: WE’LL SACRIFICE OUR BLOOD FOR MOHAMMED: Hizbullah’s terrorist group leader made a rare public appearance at a rally in Beirut denouncing an anti-Islam film that has provoked a week of unrest in Muslim countries worldwide. Hassan Nasrallah does not usually appear in public for fear of assassination. He called for Monday's protests in Beirut, saying the US must be held accountable for the film because it was produced in America. Speaking to a crowd of tens of thousands of supporters, he vowed, "God's prophet, we will sacrifice ourselves, our blood, our families and our money for your honor.” Nasrallah warned the US needs to understand that putting out the whole film will have very grave consequences around the world.” The terror group's supporters chanted "Death to America, Death to Israel" while marching through Beirut's suburbs Monday in protest against the film. Protesters held signs reading, "America, the great Satan" and "Muslims unite!" Also on Monday, hundreds of Palestinians in Ramallah protested against the anti-Islam film. Participants of the sit-in, organized by the Palestinian Authority's Waqf (religious endowment) and conducted outside its offices, held signs saying "We are against those who oppose you Mohammed" and "Do not touch our prophet." Additional, more violent demonstrations were held in Pakistan, Indonesia, Afghanistan and Azerbaijan. (Ynet) Pray according to scripture for a soon end to these violent demonstrations: “You silence the uproar of foreigners. As heat is reduced by the shadow of a cloud, so the song of the ruthless is stilled.” Isa 25:5

US DIPLOMATS IN BEIRUT BURNING CLASSIFIED MATERIAL AMID PROTESTS: A State Department report Monday said the Beirut embassy had reviewed its emergency procedures and was destroying classified holdings. It also disclosed that local Lebanese employees were sent home early due to protests by the terrorist group Hizbullah over an anti-Muslim film produced in the US. Protesters have breached the walls or compounds of several US diplomatic missions, including the consulate in Benghazi, Libya where the ambassador and three other Americans were killed last Tuesday. Earlier Monday, the State Department renewed its warning to US citizens to "avoid all travel to Lebanon because of current security concerns" (Fox)

NO DEMONSTRATION BEFORE ATTACK ON US CONSULATE: An intelligence source in Libya maintains there was no demonstration outside the US Consulate in Benghazi prior to last week's attack - challenging the Obama administration's claims the assault grew out of a "spontaneous" protest against an anti-Islam film. "There was no protest and the attacks were not spontaneous," the source said, adding the hit "was planned and had nothing to do with the movie." According to the source, the assault came with no warning and included fire from more than two locations and included RPG's and mortar fire. The account that the attack started suddenly backs up claims by a Libyan security guard who said late last week the area was quiet before the attack. These details appear to conflict with accounts from the Obama administration that the assault was spawned from an out-of-control protest. The Libyan president also said Sunday the strike was planned in advance. (Fox)

EGYPT TO TRY SEVEN COPTS, US PASTOR OVER PROPHET FILM: Egypt's general prosecutor has issued arrest warrants for seven Egyptian Coptic Christians and a Florida-based American pastor and referred them to trial on charges linked to an anti-Islam film that has sparked riots across the Muslim world. The prosecutor's office says the seven men and one woman, all of whom are believed to be outside of Egypt, are charged with harming national unity, insulting and publicly attacking Islam and spreading false information. The office says they could face the death penalty. (AP) Intercede for the safety of these seven Christians in danger of arrest, lengthy prison terms and even death. According to security experts, repercussions from the anti-Islam film sparking riots at US and other foreign embassies are likely to include escalating persecution of Christians in Muslim countries.  Even this week, a Copt in the Shag region south of Cairo was jailed for six years for insulting the Prophet and Islam. Pray for the safety of all Christian communities in Islamic controlled regions who are already suffering immense losses, terror and maltreatment.
