“Raise the war cry, you nations, and be shattered! Listen, all you distant lands. Prepare for battle, and be shattered! Devise your strategy, but it will be thwarted; propose your plan, but it will not stand, for God is with us.” Isa 8: 9-10
IRAN EXPANDS NUCLEAR CAPACITY IN UNDERGROUND BUNKER: Iran has installed many more uranium enrichment machines in an underground bunker, diplomatic sources disclosed Thursday. Several informants said Tehran had put in place additional enrichment centrifuges in its Fordow facility, buried deep inside a mountain to protect it against any enemy strikes. One source suggested it involved hundreds of machines. Also this week the Islamic Republic started refining uranium at the Fordow underground site to a fissile purity of 20%. Iran has said for months it is preparing to move its highest-grade uranium refinement work to Fordow from its main enrichment plant at Natanz, and sharply boost capacity. The decision to conduct sensitive atomic activities at the underground site further increases tensions between the Islamic Republic, the US and Israel over its suspected nuclear weapons development program. IRAN’S AYATOLLAH ORDERS WORLDWIDE WAR OF TERROR TO PUNISH WEST: Iran’s Supreme Ayatollah on Wednesday ordered the feared Revolutionary Guards to escalate its worldwide terror to punish the West for backing the war against Syrain President Bashar Assad. Western intelligence sources said Ayatollah Ali Khameini issued the order after discussion of a special report on the consequences if Syrian President Bashar Assad’s regime falls. Assad is a key ally for Iran, which has been isolated not only by Western leaders but also by much of the Muslim world. The doubtful future of Assad’s regime is one of the major factors in Iran’s reaching out to Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood President Mohammed Morsi to renew ties with Iran after more than a three-decade freeze. Assad has been an important link for the Iran-Hizbullah alliance and has smuggled tens of thousands of missiles, and possibly chemical weapons, into Hizbullah-dominated areas of Lebanon. Khameini knows that without Syria, he has no direct link to Hizbullah via the Syrian-Lebanese border. Several terrorist hits the past year have been attributed to Iran, dating from the suicide bombing of a tourist bus in Bulgaria this summer which killed five Israelis, to last year’s failed assassination attempt on the Saudi Arabia ambassador to Washington. Iran has been named for attacks and attempted attacks on Israelis in Thailand, India and Azerbaijan. (Arutz-7)
HIZBULLAH DRILL PREPARES TO OCCUPY THE GALILEE: A reportedly large Hizbullah military drill held in southern Lebanon is part of an Iranian-orchestrated preparation for a confrontation with Israel, a senior Israeli security analyst said. Over 10,000 Hezbollah fighters participated in the terror organization’s largest military exercise to date last week, which included defensive tactics and “preparations to conquer the Upper Galilee,” Lebanese newspaper Al- Joumhouria reported Thursday morning. “This is happening in full coordination with Iran,” said Dr. Ely Karmon of Herzliya’s Institute for Counter-Terrorism. “In his last two speeches, Hizbullah chief Hassan Nasrallah indicated he would join an Iranian counter-strike if Israel struck Iran’s nuclear program.” (J.Post) “The horse is prepared for the day of battle, but victory belongs to the Lord.” Prov 21:31
DEFYING ISRAEL AND US, UN’S BAN KI-MOON CONFIRMS TRIP TO TEHRAN: UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon will attend Iran for the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) summit next week, defying objections from Israel, the US and Jewish groups worldwide to boycott the event. A statement issued by his office said Ban “looks forward” to the summit and working with the visiting leaders, “including the host country,” in an effort to reach “solutions on issues that are central to the global agenda.” Taking place in the capital, Tehran, and under the chairmanship of Iran, the NAM Summit will be held on 26-31 August, and is expected to draw representatives from its 120 members. (INN) Unbelievable!
GANTZ: IDF HAS DEVASTATING POWER: IDF Chief of Staff Lieutenant-General Benny Gantz on Wednesday conveyed a warning to Iran saying that "whoever will try to harm us will face our devastating might." Addressing recent statements by Iranian leaders in the backdrop of reports of a possible Israeli strike in Iran, Gantz said, "We are hearing explicit threats over Israel's security and well being of its people – threats that demonstrate an underestimation of our capabilities." He further added, "Anyone who thinks they can get rid of Israel and hurt our nation will discover the IDF's devastating force. We stand steadfast along our borders in the face of threats. The IDF has the world's best soldiers and commanders." (Ynet)
IRAN SUPPLYING ASSAD REGIME WITH MILITARY AID: The UN on Wednesday confirmed Iran is providing Syria with weapons as the 17-month uprising against President Bashar Assad slides deeper into civil war. The UN accusation backs charges by Western officials the Islamic Republic is providing funds, munitions and intelligence support to Assad in his bid to crush the opposition. Syrian rebels also say Tehran has sent Revolutionary Guards and Hizbullah forces to fight on the Regime’s behalf. UN reports claim more than 18,000 people have died and some 170,000 people have fled the country as a result of the fighting in Syria. Human rights sources and opposition groups have placed the death toll as high as 22,000. Up to 2.5 million people in Syria are said to be in need of aid. A UN Security Council panel of independent experts that monitors sanctions against Iran has uncovered several examples of Iran transferring arms to Syria's government. (Ha’aretz)
SYRIAN ARMY SHELLS, BOMBARDS DAMASCUS: The Syrian Army is shelling its own capital city, which is also being bombarded by the country's Air Force helicopters, as members of the Free Syrian Army continue to secure sections of Damascus. Reports from news agencies placed the death toll in Damascus as high as 40 people killed by government forces on Wednesday. Residents told reporters via Skype that some 22 tanks stormed the upscale Kfar Souseh district with each tank being followed by numbers of foot soldiers. Regime forces conducted house-to-house searches as they hunted for opposition forces, according the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. Contacts said government soldiers carried out execution-style killings during the raids. "The whole of Damascus is shaking with the sound of shelling,” said one local resident. (INN)
RISE IN PALESTINIAN AUTHORITY - SO CALLED - HONOR KILLINGS: “Honor Killings," essentially legal murder because of loopholes in Palestinian Authority law, have sharply risen in spite of more US aid “designed to support strong institutions” of the PA. At least 29 women were killed over a four period ending in 2010 but nearly the same number were murdered in the past year and a half. The latest victim was murdered by her husband after she left a divorce hearing in Bethlehem. She had suffered beatings that forced her to be hospitalized. The husband never was charged with a crime. One of the most publicized cases was last year’s discovery of a savage murder of a 20-year-old woman, whose uncle tied her up and threw her into a well because he did not approve of an intended marriage. PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas gave an order months ago that was supposed to change a former Jordanian law that limited punishment for “honor killings” to three years in jail. His order called for the killings to be treated as any other murder, but in effect, nothing has changed. (INN) Who can imagine the terror which reigns in the lives of so many women under the yoke of Islam? Pray for G-d’s mercy and protection to reach Muslim women and children in danger of crushing intimidation and violence – most often at the hands of close family members.
GERMAN RABBI FACES CRIMINAL CHARGES OVER CIRCUMCISION: A German rabbi has been criminally charged for performing a circumcision, committing what the indictment calls "bodily harm," media outlets reported on Tuesday. The lawsuit against David Goldberg, who is a mohel and the Rabbi of the city of Hof Saale in Bavaria, is the first known case following the anti-circumcision ruling issued by a German court in May. Rabbi Goldberg said in response that while he is not intimidated by the criminal charges, the indictment sends Germany back to its dark days. "This is the first time since the Second World War that Jews are being targeted for performing circumcisions, and this definitely send us back to those days.” (Ynet) This is a dangerous antisemitic trend gathering incentive in Germany and other European countries. Pray the spreading legal decrees against religious circumcision will be blocked.
LAKE KINERET WATER LEVEL SUFFERS DRAMATIC DROP: The water level in Lake Kinneret (Sea of Galilee) has dropped by a whopping 26 inches since mid-May, and is expected to drop further. Despite the abundant winter rains of the past year, evaporation from the hot summer sun and pumping from the lake has taken its toll. Officials predicted Thursday the water level of the lake could drop by as much as 40 more inches until the winter rains begin. That would bring the level to the lower “red line” – the point at which it would be dangerous to pump water from the lake. The month of July was especially brutal on water and other natural resources in Israel, with higher-than-normal temperatures in the region. As a result, the water level of the lake dropped by 11 inches. (Arutz-7) Please begin to pray now for an outpouring of rain during Israel’s coming winter season.
Blessings from Israel
