“When the Lord goes through the land to strike down the Egyptians, He will see the blood on the doorframe and will pass over that doorway, and He will not permit the destroyer to enter your houses and strike you down.” Ex 12:23

PASSOVER 2012: Passover, a commemoration of the Jewish Exodus from Egypt, begins this year in Israel at sunset Friday, April 6 and concludes at nightfall, Friday April 13. Families and friends across the country will gather in homes, halls and hotels to celebrate the annual Seder meal. Together the nation will recall in song and story the biblical deliverance, under the leadership of Moses, from the slave pits of Egypt, the ten plagues preceding it, and escapes from death because of the blood of the Passover lamb. Unleavened bread called matzas will be eaten throughout the holiday, and sweets made with matza, corn and potato flour will accompany daily meals. Vision for Israel & The Joseph Storehouse team extends warmest holiday greetings to our friends near and far.

ARAB LECTURER: MOSES LED MUSLIMS OUT OF EGYPT: Dr. Omar Ja’ara, lecturer at Al-Najah University in Nablus specializing in Israeli affairs, said on Fatah television that Moses led the Muslims out of Egypt and that the Exodus was the first instance of ‘Palestinian’ liberation through armed struggle, reported the Palestinian Media Watch. "We must make clear to the world that David in the Hebrew Bible is not connected to David in the Quran," he said. "Solomon in the Hebrew Bible is not connected to the Solomon in the Quran and neither is Saul or Joshua son of Nun. We have a great leader, Saul, who defeated the nation of the giants and killed Goliath. This is a Muslim victory. The Muslims of the Children on Israel went out of Egypt under the leadership of Moses and unfortunately, many researchers deny the Exodus of these oppressed people who were liberated by a great leader like Moses the Muslim." Ja’ara claimed. "This was the first Palestinian liberation through armed struggle to liberate Palestine from the nation of giants led by Goliath," he added. "This is our logic and this is our culture." (PMW) “The One enthroned in heaven laughs....” Ps 2:4

HAMAS LEADER ADMITS THAT PALESTINIAN IDENTITY IS INVENTED: In a televised address on Al-Hekma TV last week, Hamas Minister of the Interior and of National Security Fathi Hammad acknowledged that the roots of most "Palestinians" are elsewhere in the Middle East, and that the Palestinian label is only a thin veneer. Those pushing for a Palestinian state try to paint the Palestinian Arabs as somehow distinct from the Arabs round-about, and therefore in need of their own state. Not so, said Hammad. "Every Palestinian, in Gaza and throughout Palestine, can prove his Arab roots - whether from Saudi Arabia, from Yemen, or anywhere. We have blood ties."  More than that, Hammad stated that the true regional background of most "Palestinians" is not in "Palestine." The Hamas minister exclaimed, "Brothers, half of the Palestinians are Egyptians and the other half are Saudis." Hammad's remarks were undoubtedly never intended for a Western audience. Rather, he was pleading with Egypt and other neighboring states to supply Hamas-ruled Gaza with free fuel, which Hammad said Hamas would use "in order to continue to wage Jihad." NETANYAHU: IRAN SANCTIONS AREN’T WORKING: PM Binyamin Netanyahu said Tuesday that sanctions aimed at halting Iran’s nuclear enrichment program have failed to yield results. "The sanctions are painful, hard, but will this bring about a halt or a retreat in the Iranian nuclear program? Until now, it has not happened." He said although the Iranian regime is struggling financially it has strengthened its political hold on power in recent months and still hasn't turned back, by even one millimeter, from its nuclear program. "We are leading an unprecedented international campaign against Iran's efforts to acquire nuclear weapons," he explained. "I do not know of an easy way to solve the Iranian problem." The prime minister added that Israel will attack those who endanger the Jewish state, referring not only to the Iranian menace, but to the threats of rockets from Gaza. (INN)

HAGUE: PALESTINIAN AUTHORITY HAS NO STANDING: The Prosecutor for the International Criminal Court in The Hague announced Tuesday that he rejected a complaint filed by the PA against Israel for alleged war crimes during its defensive war "Operation Cast Lead" in Gaza in 2009. The prosecutor explained that only states can file a complaint with the International Criminal Court. He pointed out the Palestinian Authority is only an observer at the UN and not a member state. The prosecutor's office said the recognition of "Palestine" by 130 countries and several international organizations was immaterial. The decision brings an end to a PA bid launched on 22 January 2009 to gain defacto recognition by the ICC by granting the Hague jurisdiction over "the territory of Palestine." The PA's declaration purported to invoke Article 12 (3) of the Rome Statute, which specifically enables "a state which is not a party to this Statute" to request that the ICC exercise its jurisdiction on an ad hoc basis with respect to an alleged crime in that state’s territory, or involving its nationals. The Foreign Ministry responded to the decision in a statement saying Israel made it clear from the beginning that the ICC had no jurisdiction to hear such complaints and welcomes the prosecutor’s decision to that effect. FRANCE DEPORTS ISLAMIST RADICALS, IMAMS AMID CRACKDOWN: France said this week it was deporting five Islamic radicals and Muslim preachers after seven people were killed by an al Qaeda-inspired gunman last month. Police commandos arrested 19 suspected Islamic terrorists in raids on March 30 in several French cities including in the Toulouse region, where a Frenchman of Algerian descent went on a 10-day rampage killing seven people. Interior Minister Claude Gueant said two people had already been deported on Monday. "We do not accept Islamic extremism. This is not a new policy, but after what happened in Toulouse and Montauban we have to be more vigilant than ever." French police rounded up a further 10 suspected radical Islamists in their second countrywide sweep on Wednesday. (Reuters/JTA)

JEWISH SITUATION IN FRANCE DEEMED UNBEARABLE: Liora Zachary, an immigrant from France, spoke out this week against the rampant anti-Israeli incitement in France. She described a situation that sounds somewhat like descriptions of pre-Holocaust Europe. "Jews are being attacked all the time," she said. "Children, in the buses, in the Metro, going to school, coming from school, couples in the street – this is just an unbearable situation. And we are talking about France; we are not talking about some kind of jungle. This is one of the main countries of Europe."  Not unlike the Jews of Europe before the Holocaust, Zachary sounded surprised that the Jews could be treated in this way. "The Jews of France have have contributed tremendously to France. And I don't think this is the kind of treatment they should receive." (INN) Continue to pray for the protections of Jews in France - also that many French Jews will immigrate to Israel before the situation worsens or it becomes impossible to escape.”

FRANKFURT’S FIRST JEWISH MAYOR SINCE THE HOLOCAUST: The German city of Frankfurt in March elected its first Jewish mayor since the Holocaust. Peter Feldmann received 57% of the vote and will take office on July 1. Frankfurt's only other Jewish mayor, Ludwig Landmann, was a member of the German Democratic Party and served as head of the city from 1924 to 1933. Although he spearheaded a massive expansion in the city's infrastructure, Landmann was expelled by the Nazi Party. He later died from starvation while in hiding from the Nazis in the Netherlands during Holland's “Hunger Winter” in 1945. (INN)
