“Like birds hovering overhead, the Lord Almighty will shield Jerusalem. He will shield it; He will pass over it and will rescue it." Isa 31: 5

EGYPTIAN OFFICIAL: WAR WITH ISRAEL IN THREE MONTHS: Egyptian Presidential Candidate Tawfiq Okasha declared last week that the Egyptian Army will engage in armed warfare against Israel, the United States and the EU within three months. The declaration also said that “like the Nazis, the Jews aim to rule and own the world.” He then went on to say that Israel, America and the European Union are planning to destroy three institutions in Egypt with “exceptional malice,” namely the Egyptian general intelligence agency, the Egyptian armed forces, and the Egyptian military intelligence. He then declared, “As of today, the war effort of the people has begun. The Egyptian army will open fire on the armies of the enemies,” he proclaimed. When asked exactly when an armed war would begin, he replied, “within three months.” (INN)

ARAB RIOTERS STONE TEMPLE MOUNT TOURISTS AFTER MUSLIM INCITEMENT: Arabs stoned tourists and police on the Temple Mount Sunday morning. The violence is believed to have been prompted by a sermon on Saturday by former Jerusalem mufti Ekrema Sabri, who warned that alleged Israeli extremists might break into the Al-Aqsa mosque Sunday morning. He urged all Arabs and Muslims to save the Al-Aqsa mosque and support the people of Jerusalem in dealing with what he called the “Israeli conspiracy against the city and its holy places.” Anti-Jewish incitement by the Palestinian Authority has increased markedly the past year as the PA continues to try to claim sovereignty over the site, the holiest place in Judaism. Many Muslim clerics have preached that Jews have no connection with the site and that the First and Second Temples never existed. The Palestinian Authority has removed tons of dirt from the Temple Mount area to prevent the discovery of artifacts from the era of the Jewish Temples. (INN) Confuse the wicked, O Lord, confound their speech, for I see violence and strife in the city. Day and night they prowl about on its walls; malice and abuse are within it". Ps 55: 9-10

IRAN NUCLEAR TALKS A FAILURE: The UN nuclear agency has declared its latest inspection visit to Iran a failure, with the regime blocking access to a key site suspected of hosting covert nuclear weapon research and no agreement reached on how to resolve other unanswered questions. The statement from the International Atomic Energy Agency was issued shortly after an Iranian general warned of a pre-emptive strike against any nation that threatens Iran. IRAN THREATENS A CRUSHING RESPONSE IF ATTACKED: Iranian ambassador to Lebanon, Qazanfar Roknabadi, days ago delivered a message to Israel and the US that Iran will deliver a decisive response to any aggression by the “Zionist regime.” As usual, he refrained from using the term “Israel.”Iran's Revolutionary Guards Corps is planning new war games next month in a desert area in the central part of the country. The commander of the IRGC Ground Forces said the drill will implement modern defensive tactics, taking advantage of advanced indigenous military equipment. The Obama administration has been wrangling in the media against a military strike, claiming that harsh sanctions against Iran are working and that Israel should wait. The dilemma for the Jewish state is that most military and intelligence officials warn that postponing military action will close the “window of opportunity” as Iran continues to race ahead towards nuclear capability, especially at its underground nuclear facilities. IRAN STRIKES BACK: NO OIL FOR BRITAIN, FRANCE: Iran’s Oil Ministry announced Sunday that it has stopped shipments to Britain and France, in retaliation for both countries’ support for boycotting Iranian exports. The European Union imposed sanctions on the Islamic Republic last month. Iran’s Mehr news agency reported that the Oil Ministry had issued a warning to several other countries as well. EU nations were told to either order Iranian fuel now, or be cut off. The EU buys approximately 18% of Iran’s oil exports. Iran has responded to growing international pressure with bluster. Last week Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said his country would soon unveil “big new” nuclear developments, then revealed that 3,000 more centrifuges had been added to his country's uranium enrichment effort. REPUBLICANS: THE FACTS ARE CLEAR THAT OBAMA IS NO FRIEND OF ISRAEL: The Republican Jewish Coalition (RJC) has released a statement entitled “Security,” highlighting the discrepancy between President Obama’s rhetoric regarding his support for Israel’s security and his actions. The ad states: “These are dangerous times for Israel. Iran is threatening Israel’s destruction. Hizbullah has armed itself with over 40,000 rockets and missiles to rain down on innocent Israelis. Shockingly, President Obama has dramatically cut proposed critical support for Israel’s defense program - the same systems Israel needs to protect itself from these threats. President Obama’s rhetoric would have you believe he is doing all he can for Israel’s security. The reality is that he wants to slash American support for Israel’s critical defense.” RJC Executive Director Matt Brooks said that at this dangerous time, no true friend of Israel would talk about cutting funding to its joint missile defense programs with the Jewish state. OVER 100 DEAD IN SYRIA CLASHES: Activists said up to 106 people were killed across Syria Tuesday as security forces continued an onslaught on Homs. The 101 civilians killed, include 10 children, and five defected soldiers. Human Rights Watch reported the use of Russian-made 240-mm mortars. Regime forces are firing the powerful mortars into civilian neighborhoods in Homs. (Daily Star-Lebanon)

SOLDIERS AT EGYPTIAN BORDER FOIL MEGA-BOMB ATTACK: Alert soldiers Monday night foiled a massive bomb attack on Israelis by discovering a huge bomb that terrorists were smuggling across the Egyptian border. The IDF said soldiers spotted the smuggling in progress and that during an attempt to arrest the terrorists, one of them threw a package, which was not found in the dark. Soldiers and police found it in the morning and discovered it was a huge bomb that, if exploded in an urban area, could have caused mass casualties. Sappers detonated the bomb, and no one was injured. The terrorists apparently escaped into Egypt. Military spokesmen said the incident again exposes the smuggling route on the western border that is exploited by terrorist organizations against Israeli civilians and soldiers. (INN)

POWERFUL STORM BRINGS BLESSED RAIN: “Hurricane” Israel has closed schools in the snowbound northern Golan Heights, flooded Dead Sea roads, and has blessed the country with much-needed rain. More than four inches of rain fell this week in some northern areas, and the Kinneret rose by more than six inches last weekend. The heavy snow in the Golan Heights and the lower slopes of the Hermon will prompt a run-off stream that will help the lake rise dramatically in the coming weeks, relieving Israel of its severe water shortage. Even without another major storm the lake will lack less than three meters before the end of winter, the highest level in years. (Arutz-7) Abundant rainfall in Israel, in the midst of seven years of drought, is the answer to many prayers. Please continue to intercede for ongoing rainfall in the region during the remainder of this year’s rainy season.

Blessings from Israel

As international speakers and messengers of the Good News through music, Barry and Batya Segal are at the forefront of what God is doing in the present day nation of Israel. With strong ties in both the nations and Jerusalem, the Segals are weaving the deepest roots of our biblical heritage together with the fresh Spirit-filled worship of today to create their rich harmony of Scripture and song.

The Segals have a vast vision for God's purposes in the nations and to the people of Israel. In fact, their longing to help rebuild Israel both spiritually and physically inspired them to pioneer the non-profit charity organization, Vision for Israel and The Joseph Storehouse. This arm of their ministry focuses on assisting the poor and needy, widows and orphans, and reaching out to the new Jewish immigrants coming into the land of Israel. Vision 's most challenging project to date is "The Joseph StorehouseŽ", humanitarian aid center, located in the hills of Jerusalem. The Joseph Storehouse functions as a channel of blessing to all of Israel, Jewish and Arab, through the gathering and distribution of emergency medical supplies, food, clothing, and other basic life necessities.
