“O righteous G-d, who searches minds and hearts, bring to an end the violence of the wicked and make the righteous secure.” Ps 7:9

KHAMENEI: GENOCIDE A MORAL OBLIGATION: Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Monday released a new doctrine explaining why it would be “legally and morally” justified to commit genocide and wipe Israel off the map. “Israel is a cancerous tumor in the Middle East,” Khamenei wrote for the ultraconservative Farsi-language Alef news site. He then called for the absolute destruction of Israel. “To this end, Iran could make use of long-range missiles. The distance between us is only 2,600 KM. It can be done in minutes.” Khamenei made it clear he sees no place in the Middle East for the Jews. The document cites statistics saying 5.7 million of Israel's 7.5 million citizens are Jewish - as a justification for attack. It then proceeds to break down Israel by region and demographic concentrations in order that the most Jews possible would be killed. It specifically states that Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and Haifa contain more than 60% of the Jewish population, which could be hit by Shahab 3 ballistic missiles to “easily kill everyone.” The publication of the doctrine comes after Khamenei announced on Friday that Iran would support any nation or group that attacks the “cancerous tumor” of Israel. CANADIAN FM: ISRAEL HAS EVERY RIGHT TO FEEL THREATENED BY IRAN: Canada’s Foreign Affairs Minister, John Baird, said this week that Israel has every right to feel threatened by the Iranian nuclear program. Baird made the comment during a television appearance on a Canadian network and pointed to statements by the Islamic republic's supreme leader, who has vowed to remove the Israeli “cancer” from the Middle East. Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, in a speech broadcast across Iran on Friday, also pledged to aid any nation or group that challenges Israel. He topped those remarks on Monday when he endorsed a new doctrine explaining why it would be “legally and morally” justified to commit genocide and wipe Israel off the map. “Obviously you can understand why the Jewish people and why Israel would take Khamenei seriously,” Baird said. He pointed out that Hitler wrote Mein Kampf more than a decade before he became Chancellor of Germany and said that with good reason Israel takes threats to eliminate the Jewish people very seriously. He emphasized that Canada does not stand behind Israel, but rather shoulder to shoulder with Israel. (INN)

IRAN READY TO STOP OIL EXPORTS TO EUROPE: The Fars News Agency in Iran has reported Iranian lawmakers are ready to impose a ban on oil exports to Europe in retaliation for sanctions put in place by the European Union and the US in January. The American administration imposed new penalties on Monday, freezing all property of the Central Bank of Iran, other Iranian financial institutions and the Iranian government in the US. The latest sanctions give US banks additional powers to freeze assets linked to the Iranian government and to close loopholes that officials say Iran has used to move money despite earlier restrictions imposed by the US and Europe. A spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry said Tuesday the latest sanctions on Iran are part of a “psychological war.” He continued that the measures will not have any impact on the Islamic Republic and the “miscalculations will bear no fruit for the United States and Western countries.” (Ha’aretz/INN/Yahoo) Analysts speculate the new measures will fail to have effect given the US has sanctioned transactions with Iran's government for well over a decade and Iran has so few assets in the US.

US PROFESSOR TELLS NEWSWEEK ISRAEL MUST ATTACK IRAN – NOW: The Iranian Threat is like the Arab world’s threat to destroy Israel in 1967, and Israel must attack Iran now, a Harvard University history professor told Newsweek in an article published on Monday. Educator Niall Ferguson maintains that President Barack Obama will comes to Israel’s defense if it attacks Iran in an attempt to slow down its nuclear development, if not destroy its nuclear facilities altogether. He said the president will overcome his distaste for helping Israel even if Jerusalem does not give Washington advance notice of a strike. The reasons are practical, he said – the probability of the price of oil at $200 a barrel if Iran were to close the Strait of Hormuz and the political backlash for not backing Israel. As for an “eruption of the entire Muslim world, all the crocodiles of Africa could not equal the fake tears that will be shed by the Sunni powers of the region if Iran’s nuclear ambitions are checked,” according to the professor. He said the biggest danger is Western acceptance of a nuclear Iran, an illusion of “wishful non-thinking that allows the mullahs of Tehran to get their hands on nuclear weapons.” He warned that Iran “would take full advantage of such a lethal lever” as having an atom bomb. “War is an evil,” Ferguson concluded, “but sometimes a preventive war can be a lesser evil than a policy of appeasement. It feels like the eve of some creative destruction.” (Arutz-7)

PREPARING FOR IRAN STRIKE: Foreign embassies in Israel have recently started to formulate contingency plans to evacuate their citizens from the Jewish State in case of a missile attack on Israel. Senior officials in Jerusalem said Tuesday that several diplomatic missions have shown great concern in preparing for various emergency situations. Diplomatic officials deployed in Israel are worried about the possibility of a missile offensive on the Jewish State that would prompt thousands of Israeli citizens with foreign passports to seek evacuation from Israel. A senior European diplomat said that in such case, the EU does not have the means to undertake a massive evacuation operation within a short period of time. Meanwhile, the Home Front Command is preparing to launch a two-day drill in the southern Israel town of Ashkelon on Wednesday. IDF forces, firefighters, police officers and Magen David Adom ambulance service crews will be taking part in the exercise. Elsewhere, the Air Force will also be holding a major drill Wednesday, in the northern Israel Galilee region. (Ynet) Pray mightily for the protection of Israel during these perilous days that have all the appearances of leading to another major war. Intercede for the alertness of all military and intelligence personnel and for the wisdom of the nation’s leaders in their strategies and decisions regarding Iran.

TOP IRAN OFFICIAL AIDING ASSAD’S CRACKDOWN ON SYRIA’S OPPOSITION: A prominent Syrian lawmaker says the commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard's elite Quds Force has recently arrived in the country to help manage Assad's regime brutal suppression of an 11-month-long popular unrest. According to the Syrian official, Kassam Salimani commander of the Quds Force, has taken up a spot in the war room which manages army maneuvers against opposition militias. The war room is said to be populated by Assad himself and close relatives, with the Syrian chief of staff's authority restricted and divided up between other military commanders. The Quds Force specializes in unconventional warfare on foreign soil. Among other duties, the group is in charge of training and funding the Lebanese-based terrorist group, Hizbullah. (Ha’aretz) Syria and Iran have long been staunch allies. Together they are chief supporters and funders of major terrorist groups who have carried out brutal attacks and wars against Israel.

HIZBULLAH CHEMICAL WAR THREAT TO ISRAEL IF ASSAD FALLS: The expected fall of Syrian President Bashar Assad’s regime may be the Hizbullah terrorist organization's gain of chemical and biological weapons that could be used against Israel, officials fear. The latest concerns, reported by foreign news services, come three weeks after former Labor party Defense Minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer warned, “We are talking in terms of thousands of missiles that might move to Hizbullah and might endanger the whole Middle East.” He said at news conference that Syrian’s arsenal includes biological and chemical weapons. Defense officials said this week they are worried Hizbullah will obtain Syria’s S-125 anti-aircraft missiles, which could down surveillance flights Israel conducts over southern Lebanon. The terrorist organization has created a “state within a state” in the area. (Arutz-7)

HAMAS, FATAH AGREE ON UNITY GOVERNMENT – ABBAS TO BE PRIME MINISTER: Fatah and the Hamas terrorist organization presently ruling in the Gaza Strip announced Monday they had reached another reconciliation agreement to end their differences. According to the new accord, PA President Mahmoud Abbas is to serve as interim prime minister of a unity government consisting of independent figures.  Israel’s PM Benjamin Netanyahu said in response on Monday; “Hamas is a terrorist organization that strives to destroy Israel and which is supported by Iran. The Palestinian Authority must choose between an alliance with Hamas and peace with Israel. Hamas and peace do not go together.” Netanyahu continued that not only does Hamas not recognize Israel and the previously signed agreements but it has not abandoned terrorism. He said in a statement addressed to Abbas: “You cannot hold the stick by both ends. It is either peace with Hamas or peace with Israel.” (J. Post)
