“Lead me, O Lord, in your righteousness. Because of my enemies, make straight your ways before me.” Psalm 5:8

GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS RECOGNIZES ISRAEL’S SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY MINISTRY FOR HOLDING LARGEST CHEMISTRY LESSON: A Guinness spokesperson confirmed the feat last week. The ministry organized a class in 13 locations that drew 4,207 participants. They carried out a reenactment of an experiment performed in space by the late Israeli astronaut Ilan Ramon, who died in the 2003 Columbia space shuttle disaster. Notably, Israeli scientist Dan Shechtman also won this year's Nobel Prize in chemistry. (Ha’aretz)

ISRAEL MARINE RESEARCH CENTER SIGHTS DOLPHIN POD OFF CENTRAL COAST: A pod of 10 dolphins was spotted off the coast of Herzliya on Saturday in what has become a common sight along Israel's shores in recent years. Experts from the Israel Marine Mammal Research and Assistance Center (IMMRAC) said that the pod included two calves. An annual report said that 181 bottlenose dolphins were identified by the distinctive markings on their dorsal fins. The most frequently sighted dolphin this year is Ziggi and her calf, Zigmund, and another female that recently gave birth. Among the 15 observed earlier this year, were some that were known from previous sightings as well as a few new calves. "We believe there are between 300 and 400 Mediterranean bottlenose dolphins near Israel's shoreline," said Dr. Aviad Scheinin chairman of the research center. "The data of the past year strengthens research showing the bottlenose dolphin is an inseparable part of Israel's flora and fauna." (Ha’aretz)

NEXT STAGE IN EGYPT WILL BE SUPPORT FOR TERROR: The Muslim Brotherhood, which is poised to win the first stage of elections in Egypt this week, is already planning for the day after the elections – and the proposals do not look good from an Israeli perspective. The organization intends to cause Egypt to adopt an anti-American line and to support the Palestinian Authority (PA) in its terrorist war against Israel. Dr. Abdel Rahman al-Bar, a Muslim Brotherhood leader, defines Israel as the major enemy and calls for the struggle against it to be assisted. He says one goal, among others like it, is to support resistance to the Zionists in Palestine and elsewhere. The Muslim Brotherhood party's platform defines the "Palestinian problem" as "the most serious crisis in terms of Egypt's national security" because of "the Zionist entity,” which it deems as racist, seeking to build and expand settlements, and possessing weapons of mass destruction. (INN) All estimates are the Muslim Brotherhood will either win an outright majority in the parliament or hold such a large bloc that any future government will be beholden to it. The Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood is the grandfather of all extremist Islamic groups in the region. It is the direct progenitor of terrorist organizations such as Hamas, which rules the Gaza Strip and has continued to to keep Israel’s southern communities under terrorist rocket-fire for years. The Muslim Brotherhood has said repeatedly that if it gains a large block of power in Egypt, one of its major goals will be to cancel that nation's peace treaty with Israel.

MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD HOLDS “KILL THE JEWS” RALLY ON ELECTION EVE: Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood, which expects to win at least a plurality in Monday’s legislative elections, held a “kill the Jews” rally in Cairo on Friday. Thousands of supporters attended the pre-election gathering at a mosque on the Muslim Sabbath, promising to “one day kill all the Jews” and wage war against Jerusalem’s “Judaization.” The demonstration was held on the anniversary of the United Nations’ proclamation of the 1947 partition plan that established the State of Israel and which was immediately followed by a pan-Arab war aimed at annihilating it. (Arutz-7) “I will not fear the tens of thousands drawn up against me on every side.” Psalm 3:6

ARAB LEAGUE IMPOSES UNPRECEDENTED ECONOMIC SANCTIONS: Syria’s state television reacted to sanctions imposed on Syrian officials and the economic sector by the Arab League on Sunday, calling the move an "unprecedented measure."  Hundreds of Syrians gathered in a downtown Damascus square to protest the penalties, which included freezing assets related to President Bashar Assad's government, a travel ban on top Syrian officials, halting dealings with Syria's central bank and stopping investments in Syria. The Arab League approved by a majority vote on Sunday sweeping economic sanctions on Syria over its crackdown on protesters. The Qatari foreign minister said that if Arabs failed to contain the crisis, other foreign powers could intervene. (J.Post) Syrian President Assad and his regime’s bloody attacks on protesters have resulted in more than 3,500 deaths since mid-March.

FORMER MOSSAD HEAD SAYS ISRAEL CAN’T AFFORD NOT TO STRIKE IRAN: The Begin Sadat Center, a respected think tank at Bar Ilan University, held a conference last week on the subject of “Israeli Security in a New Regional Environment," which focused on the "Arab Spring" and its implications. Its experts concluded the Arab Spring is not going to result in democracy and may make things even worse for Israel. "As steep as the price for hitting Iran may be, a military strike on Iran will be less painful than the cost of living with an Iranian nuclear weapons threat," said former Mossad head Maj. Gen. (res.) Danny Yatom. He acknowledged that rocket attacks would likely ensue from Lebanon and Gaza following a Western or Israeli strike against Iran, but added that Israel's response would be so painful and crushing that rockets will come to an end. The world does not have much time left to act on Iran, the former Mossad head warned, adding there is an evaluation Iran has crossed the red line. “They have the knowledge to make the bomb. All that is needed now is the decision to do it. The world has a year in which to halt the Iranian nuclear weapons program, probably less." (Arutz-7) “But the Lord is with me like a mighty warrior; so my persecutors will stumble and not prevail. They will fail and be thoroughly disgraced; their dishonor will never be forgotten.” Jeremiah 20:11

IRAN THREATENS ISRAEL AND TURKEY IF ATTACKED: Two senior commanders of Iran's Revolutionary Guards delivered threats over the weekend against Israel, Turkey and other Western targets, if the Islamic Republic's nuclear program comes under military attack. Guard’s commander, Yadollah Javanim, said if Israel fires a missile at Iran’s nuclear facilities or vital installations, it should know that Israel's nuclear centers will be the target of Iranian missiles. Gen. Amir Ali Hajizadeh, who heads the Guards' aerospace division, added, "Should we be threatened, we will target NATO's missile defense shield in Turkey and then hit the next targets." Tehran says the North Atlantic Treaty Organization's early warning radar station in Turkey is meant to protect Israel against Iranian projectile attacks if a war breaks out with the Jewish state. Hajizadeh was quoted as saying the US also plans to install similar stations in Arab states, which has spurred Iran to alter its military defense strategy. (INN/AP)

NO TAX MONEY – NO MORE PA: Palestinian Authority PM, Salam Fayyad, warned days ago that if Israel does not resume the transfer of tax revenues it collects for the PA, the entity will collapse economically and thus cease to exist. Already now, Fayyad claims, the PA cannot pay salaries to its employees. He blamed the Israeli decision to freeze the taxes it collects for the PA as being the reason for the impending collapse. A recent World Bank report said the crisis was primarily due to the lack of donor countries fulfilling their pledges to hand over billions of dollars to PA headquarters in Ramallah. Israeli officials decided to halt the transfer of taxes to the PA as part of a round of sanctions against the entity, following its ascension as a full-member state to UNESCO. (INN)  A Brief Review: The PA is attempting to proceed with gradual full-fledged recognition as an independent Arab country via the UN without coming to a reasonable agreement with Israel over conditions surrounding its statehood. Demands the PA has put upon the Jewish nation in return for a false peace are beyond all reason and have caused a near-permanent halt in negotiations. These demands include that Israel’s freeze of all its settlement expansion and return to pre-1967 borders, which would be a catastrophic blow to Israel’s security and entail the division of Israel’s holiest city, Jerusalem. These are only a few of the outrageous conditions from which the PA refuses to budge in order to resume peace negotiations with the Jewish state. Additionally, PA television broadcasts continually call for destruction of the Jews. Holocaust Denial and hatred of Israel is rampant in PA School Textbooks. Taking a realistic view at what is at the heart of the Palestinian people and their leaders in terms of future peaceful co-existence with Israel; one must examine what is being taught to the next generation. PA School maps do not even indicate Israel exists.  In 12th grade textbooks, the PA is now teaching its young people to deny the Holocaust. In addition, new materials are directed at educating PA Arab children toward Jewish genocide and are opposed to forwarding peaceful co-existence with Israel. Text books refer to the founding of the Jewish State as a “catastrophe unprecedented in history.” Additionally, PA Chairman and Fatah leader Mahmoud Abbas considered to be a moderate force in the camp of Israel haters, in his doctoral dissertation written in 1982, denied documented facts about the Holocaust. One would need to will to be deceived to buy into the lie that Fatah, or the PA society as a whole are desirous of, or planning toward a future peace with Israel.  The single hope for peace is for the good news of Yeshua to penetrate Muslim strongholds.  Please pray to that end.

Blessings from Israel
