“Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom. Sell what you have and give alms. Provide yourselves money bags which do not grow old, a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where neither thief approaches nor moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Luke 12: 32-34

FIRST NEFESH B’NEFESH SUMMER FLIGHT ARRIVES:   Two hundred and forty five new olim Jewish immigrants from the US and Canada landed in Israel Tuesday morning on this summer’s first flight organized by Nefesh b’Nefesh with the Jewish Agency. Hundreds of guests attended the welcoming ceremony for the olim at Ben Gurion Airport, including Jewish Agency chief Natan Sharansky. This is the tenth summer since Nefesh B’Nefesh was founded. Approximately 2,500 people from the US, Canada and Britain are expected to make aliyah with the organization's assistance this summer. The group expects to reach its 30,000th immigrant this year. (INN) Pray for these new arrivals and their families that they will quickly adjust to Israel’s climate and Middle Eastern society. Pray they will learn the language quickly and find homes and jobs.

TOURISM TO ISRAEL SET TO BREAK RECORDS:   According to the Central Bureau of Statistics, 262,000 visitors entered Israel in June 2011, a record for the month of June with 1% more than June 2010 and 25% more than June 2009. An all-time record-high was also recorded in June for incoming tourists who stayed in Israel for more than one night 228,300 about 87% of all visitors and an increase of 7% over June 2010. (INN)

ISRAEL TO HELP COMMUNITIES IN SOUTH SUDAN: The world's newest country - South Sudan - is about to become the recipient of a long-term Israeli humanitarian aid mission after being formally recognized this week by the State of Israel. The project is to be carried out by the Jewish Federation of Greater Toronto, AJC and other agencies. A humanitarian aid shipment is already being put together as a goodwill gesture between the two peoples, but the teams intend to take it farther. “As a small and relatively newborn country, Israel has gained experience in various factors of water, agriculture, post-trauma, education, migration and others that would be valuable to the people of South Sudan who are now building their country,” said IsraAID's founding director. The teams have begun to assess the long-term needs on the ground for an extended aid mission that would benefit children, women and elders in the most affected communities in the country. (INN)

GLENN BECK AT KNESSET: BIBLICAL ESTHER AND RUTH GUIDED ME: American news personality Glenn Beck told the Knesset Aliyah and Absorption Committee Monday that the Biblical Esther and Ruth have guided him as he stands up for Israel. “Esther knew she had no choice but to come out and speak,” he said, referring to Queen Esther’s risking her life to save the Persian Jewish community. Speaking of Ruth, a non-Jew who followed her Jewish mother-in-law Naomi from Moab to Israel and then converted, Beck said, “Your people are my people and I will go where you will go. We have to believe in common decency, link arms, and G-d will do the rest.” Beck spoke at the committee hearing at the invitation of committee chairman Danny Danon (Likud) and Shas Knesset Member Nissim Ze’ev. The panel wanted to hear Beck’s views on fighting the worldwide campaign trying to make Israel seem illegitimate. Beck explained the Internet has allowed people to be more accessible to the truth, which he said has been censored by mainstream media. “The world is being changed by a few guys in the basement writing on the Internet. Forget the mainstream media.” He also stated the demands of the Palestinian Authority are another excuse for the world to continue a centuries-old campaign of antisemitism, which he said is “going through the roof. The US has an economic problem and the Jews will be blamed.” The Arab-Israeli conflict is “about the end of West and the destruction of Israel,” according to Beck. (INN)

MADE IN ISRAEL: BRIZA’A TECH BRINGS OUT A DIAMOND’S COLOR:    Israeli company Briza Color Diamonds has come up with a new method to enable diamond companies to turn their polished whites into color enhanced diamonds. Briza’s technology uses an electronic accelerator to simulate the conditions nature uses to color diamonds. The company has perfected the process to a degree that enables it to offer consistent results in 14 different colors. “Today we can predict from the beginning what stones we get and what the color will be at the end of the process,” said Briza co-owner Shay Barak, who added that Briza does not color the diamonds but uses the color that is already in the diamond. “We change the structure of the diamonds using the atoms and by giving them the same atmosphere they have in the ground,” he said. “There is a potential in each diamond and by the end of the process we maximize the potential of the color, whatever it is.” (Aruz-7)

PM NETANYAHU MEETS WITH GREEK PRESIDENT PAPOULIAS: “PM Benjamin Netanyahu this week met with Greek President Karolos Papoulias and thanked him for Greece's great help during the Carmel wildfire. He also expressed his gratitude for the Greek detention of the latest flotilla after it attempted an unauthorized run to Gaza. (Prime Minister’s Office) This is good news and an answer to many prayers. Continue to pray that Israel will be honored and respected among the nations, also that badly damaged relations with Turkey will be steadily repaired.

ALARMING POVERTY RATE IN ISRAEL: Today we are faced with alarming poverty statistics in Israel: Some 46% of the people living under the official poverty line are working poor. These are hard working individuals who do not earn enough to make ends meet and who have to make choices between food and medicine. Globes reported Tuesday July 12th, 2011 regarding the cost of living in Israel that the Israeli consumer pays almost two to three times as much as others around the world in monthly expenditures while salaries are considerably lower compared with the rest of the world. The cost of living in Israel has appeared in the headlines, but it is not just a matter of grocery store costs: in many sectors, from telecommunications to automobiles, Israel pays much higher prices compared with other countries. If you take into account the average salary of an Israeli compared with those who live across the ocean, the picture is bleak: the average salary in America is about $3800 a month, and in the large cities about $5000 a month. Data from the EU show the average salary in Britain is about $4500. In Israel the average monthly salary is only $2600. The difficulty in making ends meet is felt heavily in all aspects of the family budget. Fuel, an essential commodity costs twice as much as in the US. The price of gasoline in Israel, as recently reported in "Globes," is one of the highest in the world. (Globes) We at Vision for Israel thank you, our faithful donors and volunteers on behalf of over 400,000 people, 148,000 needy children, hundreds of families of terrorist victims, and thousands of elderly in nursing homes and medical centers who have been helped by Vision for Israel. OBAMA ADMINISTRATION FORMALLY RECOGNIZES TERRORIST GROUP: The Obama Administration has formally recognized the Muslim Brotherhood, organizers of world terror and instigators of hatred of the US and Israel. Created to advance Islam across the globe, the Muslim Brotherhood has helped finance at least a dozen radical Islamic terror groups, including Hamas and al Qaeda. Secret papers obtained by the FBI reveal the Brotherhood has worked for years to infiltrate American social groups as part of its plan for a world takeover by Muslim extremism. (DHFC)

OBAMA ADMINISTRATION: US AID TO PALESTINIAN AUTHORITY CRITICAL TO MIDEAST STABILITY:  The Obama administration on Tuesday defended the US aid to the Palestinian Authority, telling Congress the assistance is critical to peace and stability in the Mideast. Testifying before a House panel, officials from the State Department said helping to build Palestinian governmental institutions and an economy is essential to the security of both Israel and the Palestinians. Last week, the House overwhelmingly backed a resolution calling on the Obama administration to consider suspending aid to the Palestinian Authority in light of the deal between the PA government and Hamas, considered a terrorist group by Israel and the US. MEDIATORS UNABLE TO BREAK DEADLOCK ON RESTARTING ISRAELI-PALESTINIAN TALKS: The US and its partners in the international diplomatic Quartet on the Middle East failed on Monday to reach agreement on how to restart Israeli-Palestinian peace talks. A senior US official said significant gaps are still impeding progress among both the mediators and the parties themselves. Meanwhile more than 100 members of the European Parliament have urged the EU and its member countries to discourage the Palestinian Authority from seeking a unilateral recognition at the UN of an independent state. Sources say Palestinians are more determined than ever to pursue recognition of an independent Palestinian state at the UN in September. (AP) “They rely on empty debates and speak lies; they conceive trouble and give birth to evil.” Isa 59:4

2012: IRAN'S ATOMIC DAYDREAMS: Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Khameni has ordered the revolutionary guards to “immediately” proceed with the completion of an atomic bomb with hopes of a test in 2012, Iran Press News reports. The order includes testing and arming of missiles capable of delivering a nuclear payload, according to sources inside the Revolutionary Guards. Reportedly, Khameini's order stems from the belief that Israel and the US lack the courage to strike Iran's nuclear facilities and that they are “frozen in place and confused as to what action to take.” (INN) “Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public laughingstock of them, triumphing over them in it.” Col 2:14

As international speakers and messengers of the Good News through music, Barry and Batya Segal are at the forefront of what God is doing in the present day nation of Israel. With strong ties in both the nations and Jerusalem, the Segals are weaving the deepest roots of our biblical heritage together with the fresh Spirit-filled worship of today to create their rich harmony of Scripture and song.

The Segals have a vast vision for God's purposes in the nations and to the people of Israel. In fact, their longing to help rebuild Israel both spiritually and physically inspired them to pioneer the non-profit charity organization, Vision for Israel and The Joseph Storehouse. This arm of their ministry focuses on assisting the poor and needy, widows and orphans, and reaching out to the new Jewish immigrants coming into the land of Israel. Vision 's most challenging project to date is "The Joseph StorehouseŽ", humanitarian aid center, located in the hills of Jerusalem. The Joseph Storehouse functions as a channel of blessing to all of Israel, Jewish and Arab, through the gathering and distribution of emergency medical supplies, food, clothing, and other basic life necessities.
